New server rules - Igiss - 10-19-2005 Draft of new Discovery server rules PvP Rules 1. PvP in New York is prohibited. 2. If a player is attacked*, he has a right to defend himself regardless of who is attacking. There are no restrictions for self-defense. 3. Attacking characters of level 24 and below is prohibited. Characters under level 25 can be attacked only (1) if grouped with another character of level 25 or higher, and (2) if spotted on site of a clan battle. 4. If player does not want to participate in PvP, he or she should post character name in a special thread on Discovery forum to be included into special Immunity List that will be regularly displayed in server console. Players with valid immunity cannot be attacked regardless of their level, with the exception of self-defense. 5. Characters escorted by another character of level 25 or higher can be attacked regardless of their level and Immunity List status. *For purposes of these Rules occasional shooting or shooting "for fun" does not count as an attack if it does not result in draining shields to 50% or lower or hull damage. Self-defense does not count as attack. Immunity List Rules 1. Immunity is valid from the moment when server administrator approves it. 2. If a character is a member of any faction*, this character and all other characters from the same account cannot be included in the Immunity List. If these characters are already in the List, they are removed from it. 3. If a character is supporting any faction (without joining it), this character and all other characters from the same account cannot be included in the Immunity List. If these characters are already in the List, they are removed from it. 4. If the character in the Immunity List gets a level 10 fighter (Eagle, Sabre, Titan, Wrath, Templar, Dragon, Chimaera, Avenger, Nomad Fighter) or level 9 light fighter (Liberator, Hussar, Wyrm, Phantom) or a military capital ship (gunboat, destroyer, cruiser or battleship), immunity is no longer valid for the time the character owns this type of ship. 5. In case the character in the Immunity List attacks other players, this character is removed from the List forever. *Alliance and Coalition do not count as factions for purposes of these Rules. They are sides of global Sirius conflict. Faction Rules 1. No characters are allowed to join more than 1 faction*. 2. Complete list of members for each faction will be posted on Discovery forums for reference. 3. Complete list of claimed systems for each faction will be posted on Discovery forums for reference. 4. Faction members have a right to tax other characters that appear in systems they claimed; character who refuses to pay may be attacked. Characters of level 24 or lower, as well as characters from the Immunity List, are not subject for taxation. *Alliance and Coalition do not count as factions for purposes of these Rules. They are sides of global Sirius conflict. Note: these rules will be implemented during this day. They are not yet valid. New server rules - The Damned - 10-19-2005 I agree with them all, but can i propose something? Can NY be considered PvP system in case of a war, and only for the fractions involved in the war? Thats all *************VladiC out**************** New server rules - Dab - 10-19-2005 Agree with all but one. If we cant attack people under level 24 why cant we attack level 25 and higher in NY, as that rule was made to protect noobs while they start up. So just keep the level 24 and lower rule but abolish the NY rule. Trains should not be allowed to be immune becuase then there is no use for pirating against them becuase we cant attack them... Creating an "immune" trading character who will act as a supplier for a faction character will not be allowed. So if you participate in clan wars, none of your characters can gain immunity. In other words, having one 'faction' character on your account means that none of 5 characters can be in the List. One more note: while flying with an escort (any escort) immunity will not be valid. About NY: NY will be a peace zone unless it's a site for clan battle or a duel. New York will act as a safe area where enemies may use for negotiations, etc. New server rules - The Damned - 10-19-2005 I agree Igiss - it should be able to be a battleground for fractions and duels as well as a negotiating place and stuff. New server rules - Korrd - 10-19-2005 Quote:1. PvP in New York is prohibited. This is a common rule in the freelancer servers. Should remain untouched. (even in case of a war, Quote:3. Attacking characters below level 24 is not allowed if they are alone.Does that mean that if a player under level 24 is being escorted by another player under level 24 i can fire to them? if so, if i found two LvL 5 players i can fire upon them. thats not fair. This rule should be changed to "Attacking characters below level 24 is not allowed." and "A player under lvl 24 can be attacked if he is grouped with a player who meets the minimum pvp requisites." Quote:4. If player does not want to participate in PvP, he should post character name in a special thread on Discovery forum to be included into special Immunity List that will be regularly displayed in server console. If the character in the immune list buys a level 10 fighter (Eagle, Sabre, Titan, Wrath, Templar, Dragon, Chimaera, Avenger) or a military capital ship (gunboat, destroyer, cruiser or battleship), immunity is no longer valid.Inmunity is a bad idea, because most (if not all) of the traders can get inmunity from pirates, making piracy impossible. In real life, pirates DONT recognize inmunity. They will attack a target if the target is considered whorty. A rule that should be introduced is: "A player cannot belong to 2 factions at a time" or "If a player belongs to 2 (or more) factions, and those factions go to war, the player should play for the faction on which he/she has the higher rank." Quote:$$ support for players who actively participate in faction events (and don't betray their comrades).Well, this rule..... the part of "(dont betray their comrades) is OK. But consider that some of us cannot enter the server at any time (because of school/work) New server rules - Igiss - 10-19-2005 Quote:5. If there's at least one character that belongs to an active faction on a specific account, no characters from this account may obtain immunity. As far as I know, most current players do belong to one or another faction, so there will be very few included in the list... those who don't want to participate, like I said before. Xit for example. Otherwise, they'd just leave; there are enough targets for piracy apart from those few. Quote:This is a common rule in the freelancer servers. Should remain untouched.Agreed. Quote:A player under lvl 24 can be attacked if he is grouped with a player who meets the minimum pvp requisites.Sounds fine. Quote:A player cannot belong to 2 factions at a timeThat's pretty obvious. But how about Alliance vs Coalition, if anyone still interested in that? I don't know... New server rules - Korrd - 10-19-2005 Igiss,Oct 19 2005, 04:04 PM Wrote:That's pretty obvious. But how about Alliance vs Coalition, if anyone still interested in that? I don't know...Well, Alliance and Coallition are not like other factions. They were created to re-enact the A vs C war. So, given that A and C do not fight against other factions, a player can belong to a "standard" faction and A or C, but no A and C at a time... New server rules - Kane - 10-19-2005 I don't remember activly going after and shooting any player-characters in NY. I've only ever shot at NPCs (Bounty Hunters, and police, navy, and the like). If I hit someone else it was an accident, and NOT a deliberate attack. Please accept my humble apology, and my promise/warning not to get you involved unless you run right into the middle of a space-battle i'm in. Then again, there was one time where I got shot first and then shot back... |
