How do you use a trader? With or without commodities? - William Frederick Cody - 07-16-2009 I am just curious, in which way the traders are used, and how do you see it: Is enough H-fuel automatically onboard or not (in RP)? Food: Included or not? Crew? Crew is not included, otherwise the crew commodity wouldnt make sense... For me, i like to decorate my ship. Food, some luxery goods, a few dozen bottles of wine, some good tobacco, <strike>cardi</strike>, a crew, scientists and researching probes for the scientists. Ah, and lots of fuel, of course. So my whale is castrated to 4000 cargo. Post your configuration How do you use a trader? My other ships are more decorated, as you call it. How do you use a trader? With or without commodities? - Malexa - 07-16-2009 I use all the stuff on it. Food air, water, guns and SPACESHIPCREW! I hate it seeing large ships beeing operated by one alone. Its space out there. If anything happens to your ship, you are screwed. Get a technical officer, a cargo officer and a navigation officer. Some crew to maintain the cargohold and some other stuff. (unless you have a container using ship, you wont need anyone for your hold. Maybe just a cargo operator) Why you ask? It opens up the roleplay. I even use MOX on my Liner to simulate fuel. 100 units of mox mean 100% fuel onboard. Also I got pirated.....for food and water. A starving pirate was looking out for our food rations and water supplies. Even my Fighters have H-Fuel onboard. 10 units are 100% fuel. I drop some here and then, to display the usage of the fuel. How do you use a trader? With or without commodities? - MrHeadphones - 07-16-2009 my trader carries some extra crew, food and water for the crew, and some consumer goods at all times. Apart from that, it's all cargo. How do you use a trader? With or without commodities? - Benjamin - 07-16-2009 I must admit I don't really go in for this stuff. My Yacht has all manner of appropriate garbage, though. A few of my fighters try and keep hold of things, but they die a lot so they often go missing. Works in to the RP though. My poor underpaid BAF pilot trying to keep down a steady supply of tobacco. Uh also I tend to keep History of Sirius in my hold until I die the first time. Not really any reason for that. How do you use a trader? With or without commodities? - Petersen - 07-16-2009 no extra stuff on my whale for me the cargo hold on the whale is just there to haul cargo, crew, food, water and everything needed is outside the cargo hold somewhere on the ship. but on the luxury liner i have a hundred spaceship crew to simulate the people that take care of the passengers, e.g. the servants. my juggernaut is pretty much packed with rp cargo, over 700 crewmembers (numbers changing from time to time as they are on big ships in real life too due to transfers etc.) scientists, food, water, light arms to defend the ship if its ever going to get boarded, engine components to repair the ship if soemthing fails etc... How do you use a trader? With or without commodities? - Ximen_Benitez - 07-16-2009 I do this on all my traders, even my smuggler. I try to have a crew and a bunch of other RP commods. It also helps when you run into unfriendly NPC pirates... they demand the 6 food instead of the 4000 whatever. How do you use a trader? With or without commodities? - jimmy Patterson - 07-16-2009 i udsed to do that but people wouldent understand that the huel im carrying is allready in the tanks and to get it oput they would need to eiter blow it up (and take the ship with it)or get a repairship to siphon the fuel out i rp it as the crew are in sheilded segments of the hull (for the BC anyway) How do you use a trader? With or without commodities? - Elsdragon - 07-16-2009 I hate trading Why would i make it take longer? How do you use a trader? With or without commodities? - Hostile_Endeavor - 07-16-2009 i also have to admit not really RPing much with my trader, I can argue that my captain eats at mcdonalds everytime he hits a station or planet and loads up on stims, but unfortunatly i have found that it doesnt seem to cut it for some people. People have also attempted to fine me for being cruel to my crew for having no commodities on board, to which I respond that I am the only crew. Mostly happens in liberty. which is why im relocating. i can be cruel to myself if i want |
