In a nutshell.....

Xenos. When I kill a Xeno i get rep for people like....
  • Liberty Rogues
  • Outcasts
  • Liberty Navy
  • Various Corporations
  • Lane Hackers
That's awesome, except for a minor detail: I am gaining a lot of rep towards enemies of the corsairs. My corsair rep remains neutral.

Just a thought, but we could link the standings together a bit tighter so that if your rapidly gaining outcast rep, you must be losing rep with the outcast enemies, and the same with other factions in hate-hate relationships.

Its more realistic.

sometimes, it can apply - but in general - your enemies enemy can easily be your enemy, too - which is much more likely. - your enemies enemy is usually only your friend when he is an unknown entity - in which case it is pure opportunism. - you use make use of the fact that he is fighting your enemy. - but once he s of no use anymore..... he won t just become your friend - just a little less your primary enemy - for the time being.

the order and the BHG for example might briefly really unite against a MASSIVE nomad incursion. - but once / if they repell it.... they ll fight for the harvest like starving dogs.

Probably. But then I'd never have a clean rep sheet. I shoot too many Xenos, I'm friendly to the LPI, I shoot too many Xenos I'm friendly to nearly everyone. At one point I was neutral to Xeno Guard and friendly to Xenos on my Liberty Rogue Greyhound. Another person in the LR almost got a Xeno IFF because they had accidently CDed and Nuked too many Bloodhound NPCs.

So, if such a thing ever came into fruition, if I did an LR Mission against the LN, I would increase my Outcast Rep, which would decrease my Corsair Rep, which would increase my LN rep, and decrease my LR rep, and my Outcast Rep? Sounds like a step backwards. Or maybe it's more akin to running around in circles.

What ever happened to the ID repninja? There are all these complaints about it, but I've never seen someone thank ful for it.

I don't ever see this working for Liberty or Kusari, since Xenos are pretty much enemies of everybody there.

Why complain when there is no reason to? I'm happy about it.

If a bit more time and research was put into ID repninjas, problems like this wouldn't occur.

.... all those things are confusing me.

If you kill the enemy of another faction that faction becomes more friendly with you. and if you IFF is X house it will be red with X house you are in war with.

But if you're enemy with an ally of liberty rogues, it doesn't necessarily mean they're going to be enemy with you.. well... most of the time they will end up enemy with you one way or another because they're defending each others interests...

I think everything is fine as it is really.

EDIT: one way or another, if you are a good player (that means you're RP correctly and all that stuff y'know) you'll be coherent in your choice of allies/enemies or you'll have a good roleplay to support it,. So players who are taking advantage of the game's weaknesses are most of the time players we don't care about since they don't roleplay, right?
