Scuttling ones ship, if its beyond repair is a normal RP thing. Sadly because of game mechanics it is little to impossible without some ORRP. Planetdiving, getting killed by your own teammate.
Why not a simple command to this?

Scuttling time should be 30 seconds. Would cost 500 credits not to be abused for simple idiocity.

It should be 15 seconds, and your ship should be rendered immobile so it is not abused in pvp.
You should lose your cargo definitely, and maybe even ammunition.

Of course it would count as a PvP death, but obviously only as long as you're interacting with someone when you do it.

problem with this, in a middle of a battle some guys are gonna self destruct half way through, but apart from that its ok.

Nice idea, suicide should always be an option.
Something to think about though is would you drop your cargo in the instance of being pirated or would you blow the charges in your hold there by destroy your cargo along with your ship?
I would also raise the cost maybe to 500,000 credits.
