BBC News - jammi - 07-27-2009 Bretonian Broadcasting Corporation 817 A.S. - Today has brought horror to the already suffering populace of Leeds, as tragedy unfolds in the Dublin system. Just hours ago the BBC received sketchy reports that the Bowex colony ship Darwin has disappeared in the Dublin system, just outside the effective scanner range of the watchful eyes of the Battleship Essex. The BPA have already declared they suspect foul play pertaining to the acts. Information regarding the incident is sketchy, but the vessel and it's presently unidentified escort ship were believed to be moving refugees from the war-torn Leeds system to the safe-haven of the Bretonian held settlement of Port Jackson in the Omega 49 system. A wreckage field has been discovered that is believed to be the remains of the escort ship, but there is no trace of the Darwin itself. BPA investigators are currently searching the debris for the ship's flight recorder so that more light may be thrown on the night's terrible events. Currently speculation is rife aboard the Essex and throughout the investigating teams of BPA regarding the Darwin's disappearance, based on the meager data the authorities have at hand. Several transmissions were received by ships and stations throughout the system a few minutes prior to the incident, but the BAF are currently holding all communication logs as evidence until a lead can be established. A BPA spokesman said that, "until the perpetrators of this foul act have been apprehended and the poor people whom this travesty has affected are returned to their homes, the BPA will consider this case a priority to pursue with limitless energy." Prayers are offered for the missing refugees and their families, while BAF and BPA pilots scour Dublin and nearby systems for any trace of the missing ship. BBC News - jammi - 07-28-2009 Bretonian Broadcasting Corporation 817 A.S. - As the shocking events of yesterday continue to unfold, BPA flight investigators have announced they have recovered the flight recorder from the escort that should have been protecting the colony ship Darwin. The information gathered from the flight log has revealed the pilot's name and ship designation. His family have been informed. The flight recorder showed that the hapless convoy was beset by two unknown contacts, as well as a third that hung back and appeared to be watching. While investigators could not identify the two aggressors from the piecemeal data offered from the damaged equipment, the third has been positively identified as the Junker [Trafalgar]:[Raccoon] flying an unknown ship type. The authorities have announced that 'they will be doing their utmost to apprehend the individual for questioning pertaining to the case'. The BBC would encourage anyone with any information to contact their local secure Crimestoppers line immediately. Further speculation has erupted in light of the new, yet patchy information offered, with accusations flying as far an wide as Molly terrorists, Corsairs or even Phantom forces being responsible for what has now been branded as a clear-cut case of transport hijacking. However, so far as they speculations go, they are just that - speculation. While there are still no solid leads the BPA are being confounded at every turn. Another BPA spokesman announced earlier today, 'that given the circumstances of the hijacking, it is expected that the fiends responsible for this will level some form of demand against the Crown.' If such a demand is received, the BPA will act accordingly to the situation. Once again, the BBC's thoughts and prayers go out to those involved and their families. We will update you as the story unfolds. BBC News - jammi - 07-28-2009 Bretonian Broadcasting Corporation 817 A.S. - Earlier today the discovery of engine ion trails leading away from the scene of the colony ship Darwin's disappearance was met with jubilation by the BAF flight teams who have been trawling space for signs of the missing ship. This air of hope and expectation was brutally shattered with the discovery of a second debris field that is believed to be the remains of the Percheron class vessel in the northern sectors of the Independent Gold Field in Dublin. A source in the BAF reported that initial scans of the area did not reveal the presence of any of the refugees, dead or alive although it was with great sorrow that he announced the bodies of all seven crew members had been discovered nearby. The bodies were flown back to New London for post mortem - their families have been informed. The absence of the refugees among the wreckage means they must have been transferred to a second ship, implying there is still a chance of their safe recovery. As the implications of this foul act have been absorbed by the Bretonian public, however, the BPA and BAF have redoubled their efforts in an untiring hunt for the perpetrators of this crime. These terrible discoveries coincided with a press release from the Zoners of Planet Gran Canaria, the eventual destination of the Darwin. Representative John Holliday said the the Zoner Council "offers it's resources to help find the ship and all on board in hopes that a peaceful settlement on the matter can be reached." While any aid is appreciated, many believe any chances of a peaceful resolution were scuppered with the destruction of the Darwin and the brutal murder of her crew. BBC News - jammi - 07-30-2009 Bretonian Broadcasting Corporation 817 A.S. - The BPA's fears over the status of the lost passengers of the colony ship Darwin were proved sickeningly correct last night, as Chief Commissioner Aidan Greene received a ransom demand for the hostages. The sum is believed to be in the region of twenty-million credits. The demand was placed by a 'Siona Kren', who was previously unknown to the BPA. Because of the lack of a criminal record leading up to such a brutal event, it is believed this may be an alias to disguise her true identity. Any member of the public with any information regarding to this 'Siona Kren' is urged to contact their local BPA station immediately. Besides the ransom demand itself, two pieces of evidence of the refugee's capture were also submitted. The first was a scanner display showing a reading that registers one thousand, two-hundred and six life forms aboard an unknown vessel. The second was a comn. transcript from the Darwin itself, where one of the hijackers had exclaimed 'Right, kill the ship. Only bodies there now.' These two chilling pieces of information are being analyzed by investigators in a frenzied attempt to try and locate the missing citizens. The BBC has also received reports that a body was found on the grounds of Chief Commissioner Aidan Greene's house. The corpse is believed to be that of Adam Johnson, one of the captive refugees who was allowed to make contact with the BPA by his captors, to legitimise their claims that they did indeed have the hostages. The transmission is believed to have lasted for several moments before the transmission was cut alongside the sounds of physical struggle. His murder will bring the death-toll of this tragic case to nine. |
