Hola Amigos,
It was a little over a year ago that a patrol squadron of {SOB} pilots happened across a damaged Harvester unit designated as Unit 24. Not knowing what they had found , they brought the damaged unit back to headquarters for our top engineer to dismantle and study. Upon it's arrival and initial inspection, "Pinz", our head engineer, discovered the unit was still functional at some level & had some how lost it's original programing. After many months of trial and error, Our engineers & scientists were able to reprogram the unit to a certain degree & made it a useful asset to the Brigade & all Outcast.
Over time, it has grown & expanded. From it's origins of some sort of rusty Corsair hull of low quality & design, to upgrades using our hulls & weaponry. During the upgrade to the Outcast RM1 Destroyer hull, Unit 24, with out notice or warning left on it's own accord to explore & gather data.
Upon it's return home, it contacted one of our command ships. It began to download streams of data to the likes we have never seen. It will take us several months if not years to filter through all the data that was transferred.
An other discovery was also found, The unit is now self aware. On some level it thinks & acts on it's own. It makes decisions, calculates probabilities & outcomes, & is now self preserving. It also gave it self a name, "Prometheus" for as of which we yet not know why it has chosen this name.
It also suffered some damage at some point due to it's appearance & a few scorch marks around gaping holes in it's hull. Thus once again it was decided to update & upgrade Unit 24 Now known as Prometheus. It's latest upgrade was to place the core of the unit into a specially designed Outcast 'Sarissa' class Battleship.
With that being said...
I have given permission to our engineers to try to program some new, updated data to Prometheus.
This data will give limited command access to trusted Outcast officials. These officials with their access code are:
{SOB} / [BLS] - Command Code Alpha
Council of Dons - Command Code Beta
101st - Command Code Charlie
RoS - Command Code Delta
If giving Prometheus a directive or an order, you must include the command code or it most likely will ignore you. ( for security purposes) It is also set to ignore command codes given by ships claiming to be of said trusted officials if the ships ID transponder does not match it's claims.
We have decided NOT to grant control access to Outcast Independents as until we can do a full intelligence work up on every individual, some can not be trusted. However, the Council of Dons currently seats two representatives that do have command access.
Now to address some concerns, complaints & possible issues with the Prometheus Unit.
Use common sense when with in the units scanner range. It's first programing done by SOB engineers & it's original directive given was to protect Malta at any cost. With it being self aware now, We are not sure to what extent it will carry out this order, but is see's Malta & more particularly, The remains of the Hispania, as it's home & is very protective of it.
Here are some common sense protocols that should be used by all ships approached by Prometheus:
1. If it asks to scan you, let it. It is programed to do so for security.
2. If it inquires your intentions, list them plainly & with out delay.
3. Do NOT joke with it. It is a machine & has no programed sense of humor, if you claim to be something your not & it decides to blow your ship out from under you, you have only you to blame.
4. Make all replies to Prometheus in straight plain direct answers. Again, this is a machine, it has no feelings that we understand , & has no remorse, guilt or meens to detect any emotional response.
5. Do NOT test your weapons upon it. Again it has no sense of humor, It does not know your kidding & it will fire back with intentions to kill.
6. Try to keep any other AI ships away from it. We do not understand as to why, but it seems to dislike other AI operated ships.
7. If Prometheus gives you a transmission to stay clear, do so. Unless your command authorized, It may see you as a threat & may open fire with out provoking.
8. DO NOT give Prometheus any Cardamine product!! It scrambles it's sensors & causes it to go on a rampant killing spree until it regains program controls.
9. Unless authorized, Do NOT attempt to give Prometheus directives or orders. It will see this as an attack & may open fire on you.
10. DO NOT make attempts to harm any Spirits (Nomads) in it's presence. It is for unknown reasons very fond, and highly protective of them.
Following these common sense rules will hopefully prevent any bad dealings with the Prometheus Unit. Although we don't have total control of it & it may be subject to do things for reasons we do not understand.
We will continue our research with the unit & try to understand it further as long as it allows us to do so.
More updates will be posted as findings are discovered.

Unit 24 has had programing problems since we found him. For a few months now his programming has been altered, he is now self aware do to the finding of certain issues within him.
Now for the Alpha code,
You think we haven't acquired this from unit 24?
And lastly,
I assure you if you mess with unit 24, you mess with all of the SOB, and I doubt that is something you care to do.
