I'll just re-post the e-mail/PM that I've got from Scott about an hour ago.
Hi,
I must regretfuly inform you that the dedicated server company that I have chosen poorly is going to be shutting down. I recieved an email regarding the closing of the company from there billing department only one hour ago.
I have and regreatfuly ask that the server be vacated and as soon as possible as in ordered by per the company request. I in no way could have predicted this and i regret that I have to be the bearer of bad news to the community I call home.
I tried my best to keep the freelancer game alive and runninng but it is now out of my hands at present time. I just wanted to say thank you for alowing me to play the small part that I played as it was a true honour. It is understandable many will be very upset but I wish you all good luck. Igis per the company request I must ask you shut the Freelancer server down and vacate the server please at soon as possible.
I feel very bad about this but in no way could I have predicted this out come to a great new start. Good luck!

Here we go again. Since I'm at work now, I won't be able to copy the player files if they will shut the server down before 8-9 hours from now. I'm not even sure if anyone has a backup of older player files (hopefully Wolfpack has).
I don't know if server is running right now, and cannot get to know (until someone will post and clarify the situation). Until further notice.

I'd love to see a copy of the originating paperwork from the server company. Bit bloody swift, even for a
transient IT shambles. Need to know please ...

Concerning making backups of player files, is there any way that you can contact any of the other Admins, so that they can backup the player files, that is if they have that sort of access?

I haven't yet gone to work. So I'm doing the backup as we speak from my home computer.

Ok. I have the UserDB at home, so all the accounts will not be lost.
But remember: from now on, all progress will be lost. The accounts will be restored to the status they were when i did the backup.
