In-Game Names. - LivingOtta - 07-31-2009 Hi on Discovery Freelancer Rp the Roleplay is incredible people have really listened and acted on the rules and the atmosphere is amazing. But. When you Roleplay In-Game you feel like you are there in a strange way some may feel this some may not doesn't matter, but when you feel merged in the game and you then suddenly meet a person called "Carrot, Flash, Frezze, Smack" and so on i feel like all that Roleplay people put in for the game goes to waste with silly names. when you meet a [BAF] Or [LN] etc they have names like [BAF]Ken.Adams and you can call them "Adams" for short and that sounds good and RP but you dont see a [BAF]Carrot because it looks stupid and non-RP so i am suggesting we keep the names sensible i do like seeing "Convoy-15" because it feels like the name of a mass produced trading ship. but "Smack" does isn't good at all. Even if you are a freelancer, you should stil call your char a decent name like Ken.Adams or whatever you like not "Flash". What do you think agree or not agree? In-Game Names. - Marcus Lindberg - 07-31-2009 I usually consider names like 'Smack' or whatever their call sign's really. It's not so bad when you think of them as call signs. In-Game Names. - swift - 07-31-2009 I know how you feel, man. In some factions, it's okay, because some actually use callsigns as a naming method. Some examples of that are the Liberty Rogues with their funny names, or callsigns of all the pilots of the Colonial Remnant for example. One of my pilots is =CR=Joker , but his real name is William Garret, for example, and such cases are okay imo. But yeah, seeing a Freelancer named UltraDeath or some crap like that is a bit .. meh. Good point, well made. Its just when you enter manhatton and you see 4-5 ships together it looks more impressive to see thiere ful names, i see what you mean by call signs but do they need to be thier main name because if a trader was to say thanks to someone for helping fight off a pirate would you prefer "ah cheers, Adams i ow you one" or "ah cheers, Smack i ow you one" In-Game Names. - LivingOtta - 07-31-2009 ' Wrote:http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=rGi...TWqF5YKQYCADkOQ Yes, but your rouges you're un-educated :P In-Game Names. - tansytansey - 07-31-2009 ' Wrote:Yes, but your rouges you're un-educated :PNot all of them. They may be true for some, but some =/= all. Many of the Liberty Rogues are criminal masterminds, many of them come from educated backgrounds.
