H-FUEL Convoy Event (August 2nd) - BlueSpawn - 07-31-2009 Alrighty, this is a first time deal for me, so I apologize ahead of time for any screw ups. Most of you have probably seen this H-Fuel Convoy event thread a billion times by now (if you haven't, knock yourself out and take a peak!): All about the H-Fuel Convoy ! ! ! Our currently set date is August 2nd, 18:00 GMT, which is 1:00pm Central Time in United States and 20:00 in Berlin. If you have issues with that time period, please place your own suggestions below. Thanks to everyone who has signed up for this event. I hope that you will be able to make it. If you haven't registered, it's OK. You're still welcome to show up at Sigma-19 and join the parade -- you just won't get paid. The following is a visual representation of the convoy's configuration: Green icons represent escort pilots while yellow icons represent transports. The purple boxes represent formation groups. Alpha Wing is the primary escort group and will be responsible for leading the convoy and being the first to enter gatelanes and jumpholes. Alpha Wing will have to scout ahead and give the rest of the convoy an "all clear" after passing through a lane. Beta Wing will guard the back of the convoy while Delta Wing will provide support from both sides. For the sake of keeping chat level to a minimum, all participants will be seperated into two chat-groups: escorts and traders. The Head of Security will post an "all clear" message in his/her chat-group and a member of the Delta Wing will post a message in local-chat, signaling the rest of the convoy to proceed. Here is an example: The Convoy reaches a Jumphole to Theta. The Alpha Wing enters the Jumphole and informs the rest of the Escort if the area is secure. If there is possible threat in the area, the Head of Security can ask for reinforcements from the other Wings, otherwise-- A member of the Delta wing informs the rest of the Convoy that they are to proceed through the jumphole. Transports enter the Jumphole to Theta in groups of 3, one group at a time. After all of the transports pass through the Jumphole, groups of Delta and Beta wing pass through into Theta. We may not have the numbers to fill up the amount of ships shown in the graph, but we will stick to this configuration, with the Alpha Wing being the most important aspect of the convoy. Once more, there will be TWO seperate chatgroups -- escort and transport. If we get a lot of participants, everyone besides a few key leaders are asked to keep radio silence in local/system chat. But feel free to chat away in groups. Teams will be assigned at the time the event takes places. You will be told what Escort wing you will be in and so forth. Transport pilots will chose two buddies that they will fly in formation with for the rest of the trip.
