Pirate ID doubt - Blaze - 08-03-2009

Okay take for example I have a Corsair GB and Pirate ID with a Freelancer IFF then can I go any where in Sirius and pirate anyone??

Now I see that there is a huge bounty on some corsair and some outcasts are offering it can I full fill the bounty contract with my corsair GB?

Am I allowed to go to Liberty or the places outside corsair ZOI?

Can I dock on a rouge base with My GB if I am friendly to them?

If you have a Corsair gunboat, that means you're friends with the Corsairs. Means right off the bat that the Outcasts and their allies won't like you.

Which is a 'no' to the second and fourth line. For the first and third, it doesn't really matter. But I think having a 'Freelancer' tag on a 'Pirate' ID'd ship means it has to be completely neutral (IE civilian ships).

No, no and no.

That's the simple answer.

Using someone own tech to shoot down the owners of that tech is generally frowned upon. The Corsairs wouldn't just sell you their Gunboat if you were going to go and use it agaisnt them. What happens after you get blown up? Where are you going to get your next Gunboat from? The Corsairs certainly aren't going to sell you another one.

As a Pirate IDed player, your ship generally determines your alligence and ZOI. Using Corsair tech means you are friendly with Corsairs and operate in their areas. If you came to Liberty, you would have no friends. If you tried docking on a Rogue base you'd get shot on sight. Liberty Rogues don't like Corsairs, see? Doesn't matter that you're not IDed a Corsair, you're affiliated with them by flying their technology.

Pirate ID states that your tag should reflect your zone of influence and tech use. If you have a Freelancer tag, your ZOI is entire sirius, but your tech is limited to civillian. If you wish to fly a Corsair gunboat, you need their tag, as it reflects your character's allegiance. And that would make you a friend of Corsairs. And an enemy of Outcasts. And somewhat limited in your Zone of Influence.

The Technology needs to match the IFF, if you want to go anywhere, as you say, you will need the freelancer IFF with cilivian technology, or a pirate train

I have a pirate train but my IFF is Corsair so I stay in thier ZOI to pirate. There is nothing stranger that seeing a Corsair flying in Manhattan, or even worse pirating, in my opinion

If you go with a Freelancer IFF and Corsair technology away form the Omega's and dock on 'technically' hostile bases it would be a bit weird. Corsair GB docking at Buffalo next to an Outcast!
