Okay, That's It! - Eppy - 08-11-2009 *Pulls out a Wave Motion Gun and fires into the forum ceiling.* Okay, that's it. I am officially angry. Some time ago I removed the Cap Armor VIII from my Royal Liner and put it on my shiny new Outcast Dreadnought. Since my liner is a huge target and has been chased by literally every damn pirate in southern Liberty at some point (seriously, guys, you're being asses, lay off) I can't really go anywhere without that Cap VIII; it NEEDS that ridiculous armor. So, since the ship can't viably set foot on the two pure Human Cargo runs currently in the game (I will kill you, Xoria, wherever you are) Benjamin Epstein has been forced back to his old business practice, namely, going back to work for the Outcasts hauling Cardamine and bringing nuclear cores back through the back alleyways of Sirius. It's not particularly profitable (nothing is in a Royal Liner, but hey, Epstein's RP requires me to carry much, much richer clients than the game allows and make much more money than the game allows), but it will eventually allow me to buy a second Cap VIII so that normal quasi-legal house-borne operations can resume. So! Tonight, for the first time in about three weeks I actually logged into the game, thinking that I felt like some good RP and flying again, and got on my Royal Liner (which is undoubtedly my favorite ship to RP, even though there's never anybody to RP with because most of the people in game are noobs who either haven't figured it out yet or won't ever figure it out). It's currently parked in Eta, as that is the end of the nukes run. I'd like to terminate it in Alpha, or even on Siracusa, since it doesn't involve trekking halfway across the hellhole that is Omicron Eta, but no, since the commodity sells for a meager 100 credits anywhere but its intended destination on Xoria's little map (I WILL KILL YOU), I can't do that. So! I undock from Palermo, and what happens? Before I know it (before I have even entered the /stuck command the requisite four times) MY SHIELD IS GONE AND MY HULL IS DOWN A BAR. Try to leave - INCOMINGMISSILEINCOMINGMISSILEINCOMINGMISSILEINCOMINGMISSILEINCOMINGMISSI-*F1s*. Folks, my ROYAL LINER - what, IRP, is supposed to be a virtual cruiser - cannot escape a horde of NPC TITANS. My seven forward-firing turrets (Mk IVs) barely dent the Titans' shields (which move out of the way so damn fast that it's impossible to keep a bead on them for more than several seconds). My shield, meanwhilst, is no longer existent - it is an ex-parrot. My hull, which is still 450000 with a regular Mk VIII armor, is steadily sliding towards zero. I repeat - VIRTUAL CRUISER.. So, Discovery *fires Wave Motion Gun into the ceiling once more* you are going to do several things: Take away the Titans' CDs. Buff Liners - especially the Royal Liner - in maneuverability, at the VERY least. Either give them their Gunboat turrets back (and a specialized powercore), give a huge damage and/or speed buff to their straight guns, or give them a better shield class, possibly (ideally, except perhaps the last one) all of the above. If you have to, make it Special RP Request, like the Imperial Yacht (since it serves a similar purpose). Make human cargo runs profitable. Diversify commodities. Make many, many more runs. I don't care how you do it and I don't care who does it, *fires wave motion gun into the air once more*, but you're going to do it soon. Goodbye. I'm going to go back to avoiding the game until I'm actually flying a ship that I can successfully trade in without getting ganked by a bunch of underdeveloped AI. See? This time I'm fixing. (your forum code was wrong.) And the prerequisite "Hail Igiss" <3 Mwerte. Can you tell I'm sleepy again? It happens every 24 hours, so irritating. And since I can't post... /signed Okay, That's It! - darthbeck - 08-11-2009 this is where the /signed command comes in usefull. /signed Okay, That's It! - n00bl3t - 08-11-2009 While most of this is just a rant, yes, liners need a buff. Okay, That's It! - komet - 08-11-2009 *Takes out RPG and (in a very original manner) fires it into forum ceiling* Eppy, I feel your pain... I've had some terrible encounters with NPC's before and (like you) most of them are caused by the NPC's appearing out of nowhere and then spamming those damned CD's like it's their job! Whether it's in Omicron Eta when I was trying to setup my indie. Nomad last year, or in Alaska trying to get across the plain while being CDed to death, those crazy NPC's can cause someone to go from:)to:crazy:in a matter of seconds... Anyways, I vote Yes to getting rid of CD spamming NPC's. But the other stuff doesn't really bother me so... *Goes to fire another RPG into what's left of ceiling and notices he's out of ammo* Son of a... EDIT: Fixed some stuff >.< Okay, That's It! - Unholy1 - 08-11-2009 I agree on the fact human cargo should sell better ... Okay, That's It! - Donutman - 08-11-2009 YUS! NO CDS ON THE NPCS! FULL SUPPORT! Also, Eppy, loved your post making fun of Karlottas random admin flame. ima firein mah lazor (at the ceiling)! Okay, That's It! - Elsdragon - 08-11-2009 GGGGGGRAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH.REMOVE THE NPC CD'S!( except in GUard systems) *Unleashes a beam of necrotic energy into the cecling* Okay, That's It! - Death.RunningVerminator - 08-11-2009 *remembers liner dying after 1min in a fight* Ya, they need buff. /sighned Okay, That's It! - reavengitair - 08-11-2009 You think TITANS are bad!?
