So... the title says it all, really. I run a private server out of my computer, and can't see the thing on the LAN list. I try to create a new gameslot and the blasted thing crashes.

Has the Vista + McAfee combo forbidden me from ever playing Disco again ever?

Disco OpenSP - Seth Karlo - 08-24-2009

McAfee is proof that Satan exists.

Yes, that is what will be blocking it.

Again, it it possible to use a form of open singleplayer with the current mod?

I want to test things, but can't.

Disco OpenSP - Xareck - 09-17-2009

Just click "New Game" or something of that variation at the main menu..

Xar

That causes crash-to-desktop.

Is there a downloadable mod that allows OpenSP with Disco?

OpenSP is included in the Discovery Mod 4.85. As he said above, just start a new non-multiplayer game, and you are in OpenSP. The story and related missions of the Vanilla Freelancer is disabled, since the Discovery Mod had issues with them.

If your system crashes to Desktop when you click "New Game", then there are other issues. I'd recommend you uninstall the Discovery Mod, uninstall Freelancer, wipe savegames and the Microsoft Games/Freelancer folder, then reeinstall Freelancer from scratch, and apply the Discovery Mod again. Remember, do NOT use Freelancer Mod Manager 1.14.

Hm... yeah, I guess I'll have to do that. I'll post here again if that doesn't work.

Definitely do a clean re-install. If that doesn't work, something else is definitely up.

I'd also suggest removing the scourge that is McAcfee. If you can get Shaw Secure, its a great virus program that has detected certain trojans that both AVG and avast! couldn't find, and it was indeed that Trojan that was screwing my computer up. I haven't had any conflicts with it and Freelancer yet.
