Freelancer ship development - legeonation - 03-09-2007

I'm still waiting for my copy of Freelancer to arrive. So in the mean time I've decided to go ahead and start modeling a ship. Here is an almost done copy its still go a little more work to go in the modeling. The main goal is to keep it under 1000 triangle polys. Right now its about 702 triangle polygons according to 3D Studio Max.
The ship right now doesn't have a name but its going to either be a light or heavy fighter.

I know it looks good mate, and it does Legeonation ... Nice one. But two posts to say so. Just greedy Mal.
Keep up that sort of design, very Freelancerish, nice fighter look to it.

Looks like a bomber for Bretonia....in my opinion.

I think i agree with Mal, we have gained talent in this community from the popularity of the mod.

I love the model, Exactly what (i think) we are looking for! Keep it up mate:D

Heh... nice. Just get some textures from FreeLancer on that thing (once it's finished, of course), and it'll fit in just fine.

I'd accuse that of being a light bomber, pirate definitely, too sharp lines for Bretonia... I like it

WIP Update:

I've got gotten done with the modeling process. The ship is 1108 triangle polygons. I haven't decided if I want to can the wings yet. The original drawing does not have wings on the ship. Don't mind the blue shader its just temporary untill I finish up the UV mapping process. Untill then I'll have to find the Freelancer Textures somewhere online or give it a custom paint job.

don't do the wings, or it will look too much like a fighter jet form present day. without the wings it looks spacier.
