Juan Montoya's Background - McNeo - 03-12-2007

Clearance password: ******* el *******

Profile: Juan Montoya "Monty"

Height: 5 feet, 8 inches

Age: 26

Build: Slim, but even.

Gender: Male

Class: Lower Aristocracy

This particular man has always been a shy person. Since birth he has hid behind his parents whenever somone new has come to his house. He is only just comming out of his shell, but this is only noticable when you actually meet him. He can send and recieve transmissions while hiding these flaws but is extremely nervous when in the company of superiors.

His first toy when he was a child was a small, swirly and detachable set of artifacts. These could be arranged in a large number of patterns, but it started glowing when he was playing around with it a year ago. He could not detach the pieces of the artifact, but he kept it on his family's mantlepiece as a show of one of the few active artifacts ever shown. Researchers from all over sirius, risked life and limb in Corsair space to get their hands on it. Sums of money equivalent to half the National Gross Product of the GMG were offered, a sum that would have placed his family by far and away the richest family on Crete.

It continued to glow, until six months ago it displayed a map, pinpointing his exact location in Sirius space. Shortly before Edison Trent's arrival back in Liberty, it suddenly became inactive, and the peices fell apart on the mantlepiece. In his spare time, Juan Montoya tries to put it back together in other different patterns, but has not found another configuration to make the artifact active yet.

Despite being shy, he was always a fighter, in spite of being one of the weakest students in the local private educational establishment. He was subject to a slight amount of bullying as a child, but he had an older brother, who usually stepped in to aid Juan when he saw this. His older brother's name is Michael Motoya, who is well built, and "takes a larger pride in his body than his mind" in the words of Juan.

His sister, Cevillia Montoya, was brutally tortured and murdured by the Outcasts on her way to deliver a shipment of strange artifacts to the Hogosha on the luxury liner Hawaii. A gruesome video was sent to the household. The whole family saw it as her body was decapitated by an old guillotine, one taken from the French History museum shortly before the fall of Earth and defeat of the Alliance. The whole family has vowed to do somthing about the Outcasts, with much of the family's finances going towards covert operations in Outcast space. The assailants of Cevillia have not been found yet, but it doesn't look like the family will rest until they are captured and executed.

Juan has always felt inadequate around his peers, being weaker physically, and not a great intellectual performer either. He found his enjoyment by directing and taking part in war games in space with his legionnaire, a present given to him by his parents when he was eight years old. He never viewed himself as a good pilot, as his cheap fighter had to be repaired alot. When he was seventeen, he purchased his Corsair transponder for 750 thousand credits, a large sum for him at the time. Immensely proud to be a trainee member fo the Corsair house, he explored Omicron Gamma even furthur, preparing himself for initiation into the Corsair house permanently.

In his stripped off Legionnaire, he made his way into the Orinoco cloud and proceeded to find a large quantity of unique artifacts, required to complete initiation into the Corsairs. He came across a large grave site in the field, along with a jump hole. He was thinking about entering it, but as he was about to decide, simultaneously, some unknown craft and a hull integrity warning made themselves visible on the Heads Up Display. Deciding to make a run for it, he engaged his cruise engines and jetted out of the clouds. Distraught at his failure in initiation, he proceeded around the cloud and back to crete.

As he was passing around the cloud, he found a wreck, which looked very old. The design of ship was based only slightly on the Corsair M class of fighters, with angles and shapes he had never seen before. He decided to take a shot at it with the singe Angelito mk I that his fighter had been equiped with and a full load of Artifacts popped out.

Overjoyed with his find, he cruised home, with a triumphant smile on his face. This is the primary reason this version of Juan Montoya's profile needs two passwords and is protected by an expert lanehacker, hired by the family to deal with finances. Money can buy even friends of the Outcasts.

Only his family knows these facts about how he succeeded in his initiation. Many others do not suspect him as he has shown himself to be a great fighter shortly after his initiation, forcing a Corsair Ace to lose a wing before himself being destroyed.

He has immense respect for the Ghosts of Ragariz squadron of Outcasts, despite what their race did to his sister. The same cannot be said for what he describes as "The selfish yobs that make up the Beta Squadron". He also makes a reference comparing the two squadrons, and the lack of honour present within the Sirius Federation.

He is only just stepping out of his world that he knew for the first twenty years of his life, with the help of the BrotherHood. He has visited many new systems, including the one guarded by the nomad fighters he encountered when he was eighteen. He hasn't even visited Liberty yet, home of the richest people in the sector. He hopes to visit Kusari someday, but knows that he can only do so if the Shogunate is successful in invading the Sirius Federation and their homeland, guarded by the BAF.

Juan directs minor engagements involving a strike team of Corsair pilots occasionally, but not very often. It is usually in covert operations, and it is very rare that he tells his superiors, or his family about these events.

Today, he is a devoted BrotherHood member and currently owns a Corsair Gunboat and his Sixth Titan since he joined.

He acts as if he is better than the inhabitants of the mainland of Sirius, and treats all people outside of his own as dirt until they prove that they are worth of his respect. He despises all that are lawful and live by rules, though he dislikes liberties that some of his fellow Corsairs take, like drugs. He especially disapproves of cardimine, but any Corsair who takes this drug is shot on sight by his peers due to the drugs homeland.

This is the notable documentation of Juan Montoya's history.

Juan Montoya's Background - McNeo - 03-13-2007

Since Juan is on assignment in Omega 5 directing a small operation against the Hessians, I am left to oversee things.

He misses his sister, even though she died when he was very young. When he gets in a fight, he takes out his anger on the target, and I must say it works very well. However, due to this, he gets tired during long fights, and has to force himself to concentrate hard on the targetting reticule.

Sometimes he fails in this, and despite numerous hours in the simulator, he is no closer to raiseing his level of stamina. I keep telling him that it is neccesary to go to the fitness centre to improve this, but he says that flying skills are more important than strength and stamina. Quite hypocritical, but he would only ever accept critisicms such as these in word form. I would be out of a job if I ever made a point about this, so i just keep my head down and update Juan's profile wth these points. He laughs when he sees things like this, and promises me that he will try and sort some of his vices out. The reaction would be very different if i told him in words.

I feel that it is time to document somthing else about Juan Montoya. He is the only one in his family who has a short temper. He can be easily wound up and this can affect his in-flight performance. It often takes his superiors, like Alexander and Farquar, to reign him in if they are around him. I don't feel they deny his fighting abilities. On the contrary they applaud his talent. I rather sense that they think he is slightly unstable from a mental point of view. He can have mood swings from day to day, or hour to hour. Somtimes, these gaps can be measured in a single figure of minutes. I wouldnt go so far as to say he has the ancient disease of schizophrenia, but i would say that this can make him dangerous to others around him. This may possibly help him in a battle situation, but it may also hinder him.

This instability makes him seem aloof and distant from some, but close and attached to others.

His personality is very complex, thus i can not fully put it into words. Suffice to say that he is far from normal.

I do know one thing about him though. This BrotherHood thing that he has joined is definately affecting his mindset. He is gaining more prejudices about people around the sector. He recently called the zoners a "two faced bunch of liars and hypocrites" along with saying that "The Hessians are simply put, stupid".

I don't know how this will affect him. He may let his feelings loose, but he might just hide them away and I will never have to report them about him again.
