Regarding weapons - Ascendancy - 03-18-2007

A thought just occured to me recently, most pirate weapons or non-house weapons all have their unique little drawbacks and advantages. Most drawbacks are seemingly always reduced rate of fire. Now, I propose that some other non-house weapons, or even house weapons for that matter, have a rate of fire advantage (say, instead of 5.88, it could fire at 6.55, etc). I'm not one to want to have the weapons all completely unbalanced and I know the system that is already in place is fine as it is. A counter to this increased rate of fire might be higher energy use, or less damage, or reduced range, whatever would seem fit. I mean, for most weapons that you see, they all pretty much use the same numbers for rates of fire (the most being 2.00, 3.03, 4.00, 5.88, and 8.33, with the exception of the added chain gun weapons). I think it could use a bit more diversification, that's all.

I also don't know what factions/houses/whatever could benefit from this little change, so I'll leave that out for discussion (if this topic gets any good discussion going). This also isn't the greatest proposition in the world, but it ran through my head once or twice, and I thought I'd share it with the rest of the community.
