Now the i've noticed that Police factions are quite absorbed into the same kind of chores that the Navy do. Search and Destroy, Capture and Kill whatever you wanna call it. But how about we give a police force a break from kiling pirates for a change and give them something else to do. Well something that they should be doing on a day to day basis; Capturing wanted criminals. 'Criminals' doesn't always mean space pirates, but thieves, rapists, paedophiles, muggers and any other scum of the earth you can think of. In this instance we'l have a thief as the example.

The idea is that a wanted criminal's location is confirmed on BLANK and has recently acquired a ship and launched to space. The BLANK Police must then act quickly to ensure they capture the criminal before he manages to get out of BLANK space or into the hands of the BLANK (Criminals).

The idea of this event is that there is no specific time that the event will occur. A time gap of one hour or half an hour will be given in which the event will commence. When the event commences the thief will send an in RP private message to a member of the selected police force, which will be a tracker recording or a mainframe message informing the police of the criminals confirmed location.

The time gap is to make sure the police are kept on their toes. After the mainframe message all messages from the thief will be in character of the thief himself. The unset location ensures that as soon as the thief
launches he's not going to run straight into four or five police vessels camping the base.

Heres the catch. Criminals such as the Liberty Rogues may offer safety support in space that they consider Rogue territory. So that if the thief makes it to the Badlands then the Rogues can cover the thief as he proceeds to Buffalo or wherever he's headed. The game ends when the thief reaches the safety point which the police will not know where, or if the thief is captured and brought in by the police to the house's capital planet. Another catch. Once the thief has been captured by the police he may send a sub frequency distress message to pirates such as the Liberty Rogues. The pirates may then choose to move out of their territory to recover the thief. To ensure that the pirates have a fair chance in recovering the thief, the lockdown point will be the capital planet.

If an when the thief is intercepted by the police, role play conversation will occur, but stalling for time will not be an issue. The thief will be moderatley equipped and will have no choice but to surrender to the police. The thief will be under level 40 and will use a Civilian ID if not a more fitting ID. Pirate ID is not acceptable.

Note: The thief MUST be invited into the police's group and will then have to form up with the police escorts, NOT the other way around. Any police chatter from wingman to wingman will be ignored by the thief.

If the thief is killed under any circumstances then both sides lose and the event is over. If the opposing forces are engaged then they may have out the battle anyway, but the event as a whole has ended.

Required Characters
2+ Police Characters
2+ Pirate Characters
1 Thief Character

This is the bare rough version but I think i've covered about everything. What's your thoughts? Does it have potential? I'd at least like to see it tested. Probably with the LPI and Liberty Rogues as you may have guessed are active enough to consider getting together such an event.

Fugitive - Cuteness - 09-03-2009

I think it has potential, just going by the idea behind it! I've heard the LPI are very active and... well, the liberty rouges, you say they are so that is good enough! The only issue in the number of players needed I see is that you need a trustworthy and willing player to be the thief, because someone will have to create a character just for this roleplay.

However, it has great potential I think, to stir up some old-fashioned "Take 'em down then haul 'em downtown!" kind of ... well, thing. But then complications happen!

The only issue in that portion of the idea is that why are the Liberty Rouges so intrested in that pilot as to go practically next to NY to get the criminal? THat is a litlte detail though, as apparently this is meant to be a low-status case, which calls for low-status response from the local pirates XD

*2 thumbs up*

I also may be willing to be the theif if you wanted. I don't have many characters... actually, I kinda don't have any characters... but if you need a Thief then I can be it! I'm in your base... stealing your goods!

I would gladly join as either the Theif or an assisting Rogue. I would love for some extra oportunities for events like this

Fugitive - johnpeter - 09-11-2009

Well, my Outcast fighter *could* be a pirate, but I'm not sure if the rogues would like that...

Fugitive - Tomtomrawr - 09-11-2009

I could come as a thief or a Rogue.

Sounds interesting.

Fugitive - Ash - 09-23-2009

Revived, further feedback please?

Fugitive - swift - 09-23-2009

Sweet.

Fugitive - Wuselkobold - 09-23-2009

It really sounds like fun. How about putting the thief in a MKI ship or Civ. Shuttle, so he is even more dependent of the pirates to help him? Wouldn't be that much a problem since the police isn't supposed to kill him but to arrest him. You'll have to set a condition then what must be done to make the thief surrender though.

Just like cops and robbers eh? I like it.
