Her long blonde hair flowed down her back. She wore a fine white dress with a thin deep red belt which fastened behind a deep red rose an was left to dangle loosely down a third of her dress it had white lace an slightly puffy shoulders reminiscing of an older time. Her green eyes gazed at the stars which made her alibaster skin look pale in their glowing brilliance. She was greeted by two doorman at the entrance which opened the double doors for her. Her heart caught in her throat threating to overwhelm her with emotion as she saw the tall man standing at the foot of the grand staircase in a fine suit. His medium length blonde hair his green eyes that pierced deeply seeing through you yet at the same time reflected great kindness an warmth those green eyes which were now looking upon her now surveying her from a distance a warm smile on his face his skin only a few shades darker an richer than her own pale white alibaster. Just as Lafiel thought she would explode with emotion an run to her father disregarding all formalities an hug an kiss him proving the fact he was real an not an illusion she suddenly felt a heavy arm around her shoulders as she was swung round an manouvered in the direction of the door to the bar by an enormous man much taller an stronger than her his intoxicated voice slured his voice, "Allo Luv ya cumin with me Aight be with a ral man." Lafiel shivered an went cold at this thought an recoiled at the smell of his breathe an body odour how someone smelling like this could get through the door she didn't know but she was very alert to the trouble she was in she wasn't going to scream but she was going to be very pissed off having her night seeing her father for the first time in almost a year an a half. She yelled at this point, "Get off me you common pig. Take your damn hands off me your not a man your a miserable exscuse for anything even a pig is titling you to nicely." Lafiel's words fell on death ears as she recoiled violently managing to move just enough out the way as he spilled beer over the edge of his enormous glass. Oxford Crescent, New London - Tarrant5445 - 09-08-2009 Sebastian Tarrant watched from the stairwell as his daughter in all her beauty graced the premises with her presence she walked through the double doors that now closed behind her. She had stopped by the sign with rules in awe she seemed to be. He grinned at her but his expression from many years of practice was gaurded his affection an love for her his daughter was carefully hid but he wasn't going to neglect her a hug in greeting he had afterall missed her birthday in his absence in the armed forces an later capture. Just then he saw to his shock a blaggard seize his daughter an begin to drag her towards the bar. Her shock an panic was clear upon her face though she might of thought she could mask it her father could see she was extremely upset an ready scream. How dare he touch my daughter! his roaring anger in perfect check he took three strides which brought him to them with his right hand he released the blaggards arm around his daughter his left he took the blaggards left wrist dislodging the mug sending it down the hall towards the door he then calmly procceded to seize him by his collar lifting the blaggard with the round odd looking head off the great an he spat venomously at him as his green eyes pierced into his brown, "Get your hands off my daughter. If you touch her or bother her again I will kill you understand." He then hurled him to the ground further back down the hall. As Guards in suits appeared from nowhere but it was an ensign an a lieutenant from the armed forces that came running from the restaurant in the door opposite the bar they gingerly picked him up one of either side an ran him through the enormous double doors an hurled him out they then followed through the door the lieutenant turned briefly to salute the Earl before closing the doors. Sebastian watched as the armed forces dissapeared before he brought an reassuring arm around his daughter an began to task of trying to calm her down Oxford Crescent, New London - Lafiel - 09-08-2009 Lafiel felt panic bumbling up in her she closed her eyes she was fighting repressing a scream yet what use would that do an it was impolite in such a place. What about... She felt the oppressive weight of the arm suddenly removed an heard the sound of glass thudding its contents splashing she opened her eyes an followed the black suit to the face of her father who now stood over her holding the man high like a god in both might an wrath. She quickly moved away an to the safety behind her father as his voice thundered his face calm his gaze cold and hurled the man to the ground further down the hall way. Lafiel had experience her fathers fury felt it to a much lesser degree but seen it in full blaze before when she was little she had almost drowned an frozen to death in a river he had visibly torn shreds off the staff member who had been looking after her. Lafiel wanted to cry everything had gone wrong this wasn't meant to happen she turned to see two armed forces officer streak past them her back was turned to them she heard the doors open the loud fleshy thud the doors close again an then the violent sounds of grunting a sickly crack was heard an she shivered. She suddenly felt a familiar arm around her an she looked up into her fathers eyes kind lacking any of the fury he had displayed before. She felt her self begin to cry an turned into her father an hugged him as she sobbed all her heart felt pain an worry from the past months an the scary commoner who had almost carted her off. Oxford Crescent, New London - Tomtomrawr - 09-08-2009 Adrian DeWinter ordered a table in the "citizenry" style restaurant. The place was actually quite nice, decorated elegantly with posh carpets and wallpaper. Swords were crossed together to form decorations that reminded DeWinter of 15th century paintings from Earth. The walls, along with the wallpaper, were also covered with paintings of previous Kings and Queens of Bretonia. Just copies, but they made the room look all the better. The CEO of Artemis Galactic Security probably could of bought his way onto the next floor, or could have a reason to be up there. At the time, DeWinter was awaiting a reply from representatives of all the major factions of Bretonia. He had offered contracts to each. Hopefully Artemis would finally get a contract for the first time since it went Galactic. He walked over to the table assigned for him, and sat on one of the padded seats surrounding the small table. He lifted his right arm and placed the briefcase on the table. He snapped the two clips off and opened the briefcase, revealing DeWinter's personal touchpad. He never wore it on his forearm, it would probably make him look like some ship technician on the move. No, he preferred to keep it in a fancy briefcase. He turned on the pad and opened a blank page. He tapped a few more options and a keyboard appeared on the screen. He turned the pad landscape so the keyboard was facing the right way, and began to type with the grace of the men who occupied the floor above. Oxford Crescent, New London - Tarrant5445 - 09-08-2009 Lord Tarrant let his daughter cry into him but slowly guided her upstairs as he went he watched through either doors for more drunk patrons seeing none we was satisfied once he reached the top half carrying her half guiding Lafiel they were greeted by a Man in the uniformed suit of the restaurant he bowed Low to them Acknowledging the Earl an his daughter the Countess the man quavered slightly under the frosty gaze of Lord Tarrant as he spoke, "Right this way your Lord an Ladyship I have a table prepared for you by the window as requested." Tarrant nodded an they were guided to were they would sit he shewed away the man an turned to attend his daughter whom had now buried herself in his side but it mattered little to him that her tears were drenching his suit. He uncurled her gently an hugged her properly his frosty eyes made any heads that turned there way immediately think twice about that course of action an turn back to their previous engagement." Oxford Crescent, New London - Lafiel - 09-08-2009 Lafiel felt safe in the strengh of her father as he gently guided her up the stairs they stopped for a moment she heard a voice a mans voice but she wasn't just keen to show her face the tears in her eyes that would embarass not only her father but herself in public yet she could feel her fathers clothes dampening his cologne smelt refreshing an light reminding her of home. She felt ashamed at her actions an that she was far from acting her age but everyone else would cry to if they were her an had the events happen to them that had happen to her. She felt them stop an her father gently attempting unwrap himself from her she quickly glanced at the room saw many heads turned inquisitively their way she quickly turned her head back again before giving in an letting herself be unraveled from him. As Lafiel unwound she almost gasped she saw the most beautiful sight in the centre of the room there was an enormous fountain which was in three tiers at its top it had a beautiful statue. There were high vaulted windows all along the walls to the very high cieling an many tables set with platinum cutlery an crystal glasses in the far side of the room there was a wide blue an gold trimmed runner carpet that ran from the fountain over to an enormous fireplace which was roaring with flames an burning logs. She could see that no exspense was spared even in the napkin holders there was a beautiful jewel bigger than your thumb nail. All the crockery was finely crafted bone china her eyes kept scanning till they set upon Oliver who had attempted to inconspiciously hide an observe her a newspaper was in his hand failing to hide him she wondered how long he had been here an why he hadn't helped her when she was in trouble her eyes moved on an she was glad that no one she recognised like the Admiral or any one from the foreign and colonial office observed her crying in public her scanning was abruptly ended an her gaze brought back to her father. As he looked at her carefully an gently produced a handkerchief an wiped away the tears before looking at her apraisingly satisfied that he had dried all the tears on her face. Lafiel alibaster cheeks started to go bright red but she managed to stop it halting it at a faint trace of pink as her father hugged her. She spoke in a whisper, "I'm so glad to see your alive. I know you spoke to me but oh I've been so worried papa so very worried about you I I don't think I could take it if I lost you as well as mother." She suddenly observed that the patrons had all stopped looking at them but didn't think to much of it. Her father responded, "Its ok my daughter you will never lose me. I have missed you so much my you have grown." They both seperated an sat down Lafiel sat looking at him for a little while as he perused the menu before she herself joined in. She almost leapt for joy as she read all the tasty an wonderful dishes on the menu. After enjoying the meal they both left in happiness Oxford Crescent, New London - Lafiel - 09-30-2009 Sophia Mertel stood by the roaring fire upstairs she gazed into it thoughtfully sipping the scotch from her crystal old fashioned glass. Her long blonde hair gleamed in the fire light. Her presence carried authority even if she hadn't been wearing the military dress uniform. She turned around an looked back upon the room were she started to pick faces out of the room she noted the secret service operative. The girl who she presumed to be Lord Tarrants daughter after she had been clinging off of him for dear life last time she had seen her in the establishment. Her gaze however found an focused on the figure she wanted her brother Sampson Mertel who the young girl had been talking to she covertly walked over to him her brothers back was turned as she came she put an arm around him careful not to spill the scotch in the other an knelt her head next to his ear an whispered, "Hey little brother." Sampson Mertel visibly jumped Sophia carefully protecting the glass of scotch so as not to spill it on anything. Oxford Crescent, New London - Lafiel - 10-03-2009 Afterwards Sophia Mertel headed back down stairs she had enjoyed seeing her brother an meeting Lafiel Tarrant who had given Sophia much to think about as she stuck her head in at the bar weaving her way through people dancing drinking the crowd seemed to naturally part for her till she arrived an sat at the bar to keep her eye on the various people of the establishment more so that the members of the armed forces were behaving themselves apropriately. A red light under the bar whirred a soft alarm went off the cold metallic voice of a computer spoke, "Kusari DNA string detected targeting scanners locking on" an suddenly various laser lights targeted on a single black haired man drinking with a lieutenant of the armed forces Sophia noticed various hidden turrets pop out of the roof. There was the sudden clicking as many standard issue projectile side arms were loaded an safety's kicked off. Sophia reacted to late armed forces officers suddenly noticing the lights as well as a few bretonian citizens piled in to encircle an attack the offender. It was an establishment guard whom had gotten there first like a trained assassin the guards gun had blurred in an out of his suit. The man was suddenly slumped dead in his seat minimal blood in result from the gun but none the less instant result a second guard came an the incident was cleaned up within seconds it was like nothing had occured at all the patrons resumed what they had been doing an the turrets went back into their respective hiding places. Sophia let out a soft sigh, he could have been interrorgated an made useful but no naturally boys an their toys shoot first ask questions later. Oxford Crescent, New London - Lafiel - 10-03-2009 ****warning minor use of violent refrences in post**** Lafiel entered the bar downstairs an strolled leisurely with grace amongst crowd to a lounge by a window over by the far end of the enormous room she was carefully making sure she didnt slip on any spilt drink in finely crafted shoes. Her long blonde hair flowed down her back as she went her fine white dress with a thin deep red belt which fastened behind a deep red rose an was left to dangle loosely down a third of her dress it had white lace an slightly puffy shoulders made her stand out like a sore thumb against the population of general common folk an off duty soldiers an police. Upon arriving at the seat she sat to the far side against the wall looking inconspious an carefully scanned the crowd for familliar armed forces personel there was no sign of any of them not even blake owen who she swore was a heavy drinker by the way he spoke an larked about. She looked at the small console in the table an went to input an order for a drink when suddenly a large man who must have been 7 foot tall sat in the chair opposite her an a arm suddenly came around her shoulders as she tried to stand the arm pushed her with ease back down she looked to the opressors face it was nasty an the eyes lacked any colour they were more pitch black to the point the whites were dissapearing his lips were curved in a malicious grin that mirrored the voice that spoke she realised the voice was accented deeply it wasnt the deep rough rheinlander nor the sleezy libertonian an it by far lacked anything within the bretonian empire with that realisation shock an dread suddenly hit her, "Why don't be going anywere miss Lafiel Tarrant. My associate an I have been just dieing to meet you in person. You are so delicate an so tasty can't have you escaping us now you have no idea how hard you have been to track down especially when you had us running all around Sirius." Lafiel shivered at the grip an the voice she was in dire trouble her father wasn't here, she was sure Oliver was still upstairs an this was not an enormous drunk man looking for a laugh an a gal this was if she was correct which her mind never seemed to make mistakes on things of such importance these were two Kusari operatives. How the sensors of this establishment had been fooled to not see who these people were she didn't know the only thing she knew she was in very very deep trouble. "Were going to have a little talk now then we are going to walk through the crowd you will remain under my arm like a lover as we walk outside you will talk quietly you will not make eye contact with anyone or raise any alarm should you find the need to I will find the need to kill you no matter how much you are worth. Is this understood." Lafiel looked away to the small gap between the table an the two lounges to the man preparing to try an escape her mind paniced as she tried to think of the best course of action. As if reading her thoughts she suddenly felt something sharp nick just under the right side of her ribs she felt the sharp thing push ever so slightly into her she had to dearly supress a scream as she looked down to see a sleek little knife whos tip was slightly dancing against her side. "Do you understand? Know that I do not like to repeat myself little girl an that I have no qualm in killing girls the young or the elderly so I would behave now before I decide its too late." The man let his statement sink in to her mind Lafiel's Alibaster skin turned a paler shade of white. Lafiel nodded slowly an hoped that her father wasn't anywhere near the establishment. "Now girl first an foremost were is your father now we saw him enter?" The mans face became numb an impassive. Lafiel shook her head an softly said, "I don't know I haven't seen my father in months?" She felt the blade ever so slightly dig further into her ribs she had to supress a yelp that almost escaped. "Lies, I can smell his unique cologne on you supplied to only him as a private buyer now tell me the truth were is he." The man let the knife retract a little. "You know that you will find it almost a pleasure to answer quickly an honestly after the crew of a certain ship are finished having their way with you little girl you will begin to see things more clearly." The enormous man sitting opposite them broke out in laughter as he kept eyeballing Lafiel's his head to Lafiel's sudden shock an horror exploded suddenly in a red fountaining mess as the first of two slugs hit him in the head an the heart. The man holding Lafiel at knife point suddenly fell forward as a familliar figure leapt on him from behind the lounge the man that had been holding Lafiel hostage flung his arm up with the knife seeking his assailant. Oliver swiftly disarmed the man restraining his arm the knife dropped skidded along the table out of harms way. Oliver turned to Lafiel an commanded her sharply, "Stand against the window an look out of it cover your ears." Lafiel suddenly aware of what was about to happen leapt up from the lounge an crouched leaning against the window slamming her hands hard against her ears an trying to focus on the beautiful garden. There was two sharp cracks as the sound of a small side arm went off as Oliver Executed the man shooting him through the head he then pocketed something out of the mans jacket that looked like a mini PDA he vanished as quickly as he had arrived melting unscathed an unoticed into the crowd to were ever his observation point had been. Lafiel was unaware of what had happened she felt terrified an her mind was racing on images of what had happened she almost wanted to smash through the glass window an run as far away as she could get. She suddenly felt a gentle arm embrace her. She turned to her right as she smelt a familliar perfume she had smelt it once recently but it had vaguely hinted at something she remembered of long ago. She looked up into the steady but warm an caring eyes of Lady Mertel who she glimpsed make a gun she held dissapear on her person. They had just recently met but she felt a sudden deep comfort an the feeling of an unspoken bond she was becoming dimmly aware of that she felt to this person. she began to think over what happened again an as she did she felt a trickle down her cheek an a second before trickles gave way to a flood an that flood wouldn't stop. Sophia pulled Lafiel close to her an let her sob her heart out as Lafiel clung to her she brought them to a stand an gently guided her towards the upstairs area of the nobility. Guards had already moved in on were the two men had been they had mysteriously vanished without a trace by the time the two ladies had navigated halfway through the crowd. |
