My best soundtrack is the ENTIRE Gran Turismo 4 song list. But for original music, I'd say Still Alive.

You're random...

Advance Wars:Days of Ruin had an unexpectedly good soundtrack.

Is this about what soundtrack is best? Well...

[font=System][color=orange]iMEXAN SOUNDTRACK IS BEST!

Seriously, though, I really enjoy the Halo soundtracks, and most of the Myst soundtracks, too. Those are really the only games in which I found the music to be so good that I had to buy the soundtrack. Other than that, yes, Portal's "Still Alive" is pretty awesome.

Unreal I and UT had very good soundtracks, tracker electronic, well later incarnations of UT franchise had good too, but that went other direction.

Can't miss C&C franchise soundtracks back when it was Frank Klepacki composing.

Then there is aggressive industrial/noise from Sascha "Buzzfunk" Dikiciyan, better known as Sonic Mayhem. Quake II soundtrack and Quake III Arean with Bill Leeb/Rhys Fulber, the EBM masterminds from Front Line Assembly. Furthermore for more adrenaline pumping industrial galore Descent 2 CD version featured absolutely awesome soundtrack, not to mention some tracks were made by Ogre of Skinny Puppy.

Although Jeremy Soule had pretty good soundtrack record (TES: Morrowind & Oblivion, Prey, Guild Wars, etc) but I find them very similar to each other, it's anything but variety.

Mark's Morgan haunting music on Planescape: Torment brings a lot of depth to the game uniqueness.

p.s. I collect PC games soundtracks in lossless quality, buying source audio CDs them whenever I can. Well, some probably know that since I was posting around Freelancer soundtrack too.
