pirate demands? - KL_JandeR - 10-09-2009 Good day, I was wondering if it is normal to be taxed with sums like 4-5 mil by a single pirate.I went through this over and over again, being in a vessel with a cargo that values like 2 mil and being asked 4 mil. This doesn't make sense, at least to me.I remember once being taxed with 11 mil (!!!) by 2 XTFs,one asked 5 mil and the other one 6.. Back then i paid them, because i cared about RP.I was able to negotiate to 8 mil though, but still.. Don't get me wrong,i have nothing against piracy as i perfectly understand its RP purpose and such. However it doesn't make sense,in RP.If a pirate encounters a ship whose owner does not have 4 mil to give, and the pirate refuses to take the cargo, and KILLS the trader, what logic is this?A pirate's logic would be to GET MONEY.Not to kill traders, that is the business of the terrorists i believe. I hope i'm not spamming with this post, maybe this was discussed before, but i would like to hear some opinions concerning the matter. Regards, KL pirate demands? - Guest - 10-09-2009 If they want you dead, they will tax you more than 5 million. Sometimes this is needed to be able to blow up pesky traders, for example, those who sit 5k away and yell to the system about your whereabouts. pirate demands? - KL_JandeR - 10-09-2009 Oh trust me,i'm not that type,at least my Karavan ain't.But even so,money wasn't a problem back then. pirate demands? - Ackarion - 10-09-2009 Its a shame, 4-5 mill is not normal. Nor should it be considered normal. I try not to get entagled with pirates, one mill is my max though, asking any more than that-pirates are just there to shoot you. Just by pass them next time and be done with them. I remember the days they use to be 300 to 750k, I would pay those all day. These 2mill or more, I just refuse now. My own stubborness, but I refuse to let new taxation standards be reinforced. pirate demands? - KL_JandeR - 10-09-2009 Makes sense, those sums are too high. However bypassing may be an issue, especially when some pirates camp the systems in which i trade for the sake of RP. pirate demands? - Exsiled_one - 10-09-2009 Third of your cargo. All if its going to my enemy and it's military sort. pirate demands? - KL_JandeR - 10-09-2009 Heh,if only all pirates would be like this.I was flying a Percheron earlier and was stopped graciously in Omega 3 by a corsair demanding "4 mil or your cargo"..and my cargo was 4 mil worth:).How quaint. pirate demands? - Aoyagi - 10-09-2009 If a single pirate asks me for more then 2 millions, I just kill him. Or her... demanding 5 is just plain stupid IMHO. Those are just lazy to trade, so they earn creds by pirating. And that is not why do we have pirates. I mean, in RP they are here to earn some cash, but in global view pirates are just provide some fun during my boring trading. EDIT: By the way, Karavan is still IMG?? pirate demands? - KL_JandeR - 10-09-2009 Kinda hard for me to fight a pirate transport with a Percheron..i remember the time when i got pwned in Omega 49 by a Slave Liner, with same demands, like 4 mil..heck,not even my cargo was worth that much! Anyway i'm not complaining,i don't lack cash or anything. It's lack of logics that drives me nuts.Oh,and btw, those piracy attempts that go like this: pirate:"stop" me:"Alright, let's hear it" pirate"4 mil" me:"Care for less sir?My ship went through revision lately and it cost me quite a bit" pirate"4 mil or die" etc What kind of RP is "stop" + "4 mil"?Correction, what kind of approach, let alone RP?Ritsuka is right,i mean piracy is a form of laziness nowadays for most people. LE,to Aoyagi:nowadays Karavan has started from scratch and it's still a freelancer.Pointing to IMG though. pirate demands? - Exsiled_one - 10-09-2009 Whats wrong with earning by piracy? |
