Hidamari,

I understand that you had a poor experience with [*USI*]San.Francisco[E] in a hostile interaction. I can assure you that this is an isolated event, and I will personally speak to the player in hopes of bettering his RP on the server. Just as other official factions on the server, we try to prepare our members to display great RP skills in the game. However, as you know, everyone has a different opinion on what is considered "great" RP. I personally appreciate the fact that you brought this to our attention. Otherwise, I would not have known that there was an issue from this member.

I cannot speak for the Liberty Navy character in your posted concern, but I can speak for the escort. I received a log of the interaction, and it is apparent that there was more RP-conversation than what you were stating. Granted, the level of RP wasn't the best, but I believe that it was sufficient in the limited time that the escort had.

Again, thank you for bringing this to our attention. If there is anything else I can do, please let me know. If not, I hope your next interaction with Universal Shipping Incorporated exceeds your expectations.

In my log that is the only thing the fighter said. Anyway I do hope that it is an isolated incident as there are enough silent auto engage loltraders on the lanes already, especially when they are confronted with a light fighter.

Look forward to improvements on this.

tara for now.

Why is USI becomming Universal Security Incorporated?

Based on: USI snubs > USI transports in Liberty, lauching Solaris Condor to hunt Hackers, signing up for Liberty Board...

While it might be not place to talk, but I always believe that bounty hunting should be left to Bunters, mercenaries and factions as VPS. And trading to factions such as Universal Shipping, Border World Exports, Gateway Shipping.

RE: Universal Shipping Incorporated - LegendOfTheWolf - 12-01-2013

Fairly sure you're mistaken here Snak3, looking at the activity levels. I have to go down to the 8th most active member to find a USI Snub. And going back to USI's member databse, we have 28 Transports, 3 Liner or Barges, 8 Fighters, and 6 bombers.

I don't see the problem here? As for signing up for the bounty board, fairly sure that's to try and get a little more activity from Security, giving them something else to do instead of waiting for traders to be online.

As for sending out a Solaris condor I say... Urgh, Uh?! Eh?! Ah!? Ehw... You wouldn't have the call-sign by any chance would you?

I always was and remain strong opponent of categorizing corporate factions as "cashmakers, cashcows flying around in storks". This mod needs active aggressive house corporations, what fits their roleplay very well.

If USI not only trades but also fights, I can only enjoy, congratulations for that guys and for activity levels, you have my full support.

Is there possibility of some sort of pew event between DHC and USI on neutral ground, in Kusari or Bretonia? Escorts meet each others, start insulting, wordplay evolves to pewplay..

RE: Universal Shipping Incorporated - SnakThree - 12-01-2013

Then escort your trade ships, instead of being LPI/BHG in NY, which does not mean your transports are safe beyond NY system. And remember, characters hold grudges. If one is gunned down by USI security personel, you can almost be sure he will hit unprotected USI transport harder.

I am not against being rough with criminals, but there are silent LNS for that already...

Snak3,

LegendOfTheWolf responded with a great statistical answer. I understand that you have a concern that USI may be concentrating a lil' bit too much on security. For that, I would like to give you my own response. As you know, we represent the Universal Shipping vanilla faction. With that representation comes a lot of responsibility. For example, with every decision we have to make we first have to ask ourselves, "does this make sense for Universal Shipping?"

When it comes to managing security, we asked ourselves the same question. Since the beginning of the LN-RM war, USI has taken the aggressive route. We wanted to corner the military commodity market and establish ourselves as a powerful entity in the war. As a result, we have supplied Liberty's front line hundreds of times and have attempted to effect the economy of Rheinland by going after their mining operations in the Omegas (this is before the changes in ZOI).

Since that aggressive policy change, we have also become more aggressive with the security around the bases we influence as well as the routes that our traders typically take. We believe, in RP, that if we can regulate the lanes that our traders frequent then we can make their routes more secure and lower the pirate activity in those areas for all traders. In OORP, we want our security members to feel like they can do more than just escort. We want to encourage them to help the independent traders; RP with the lawful and unlawful through either collaboration or PvP/negotiations, respectively; and be able to do the very things they could do in other factions, such as collect bounties. With bounties, in RP, we believe that since USI helped Liberty with the war, that we could do the same with the war on piracy. Again, we believed that this is a good fit to our developing RP as a faction.

Thank you for giving us your feedback and advice on your observation of our faction. Personally, I really enjoyed the last encounters that I had with one of your characters (Vlad). I hope that they will continue and we can make an RP event that will bring utility to us both.

If you have any more comments, questions, or concerns in regards to USI, please post them here. I love reading them.

Pavel,

Thank you very much for you support and kind words! I truly appreciate it. The management here (AKA: Executive Administration) really try to make USI fun for everyone. This includes our own members as well as the members of the community that we interact with. One of the ways we can demonstrate this is with a more aggressive approach with our Department of Security. Thankfully, we have managed to construct a good history that points our faction into this direction. One of our goals with our Department of Security is to make security contracts with other factions and independents, where we can secure mining fields and player bases as well as escort services. We feel this is the future of our department and I look forward to the RP that will result.

As far as creating an event that involves USI and DHC, I love it! Many of the members in this community have seen battles with Battleships, Bombers, and Fighters, but how many of us have seen battles with Transports, Bombers, and Fighters? It presents a whole new strategy and a lot of potential as far as event creation. Instead of "lets kill each other and whoever is the last man standing wins" we could do events like "lets intercept this giant convoy before they reach their destination." My Skype ID is michael.trenton (Michael Trenton). Lets brainstorm together to figure out a good event that'll benefit both of our factions.

Thank you again for your feedback and kudos, I really appreciate it.

Well, this was bugging me for a while now.

Was USI granted the right to use Miner ID for tagged vessels? If so, is there a relevant thread about it ( I was unable to find it ).
