Opening.... From: Howard Andrews, Planetform, Inc., Cantebury Station Topic: BOWEX "Shire" Container Transport Esteemed Officials of Border Worlds Exports My name is Howard Andrews, the current Chief Executive Officer of Planetform Terraforming, Inc. and I have written to request a number vessels based on the recent "Shire" design you have produced. After several viewings of this vessel we've seen the possibilites a ship of this size could offer to our corporation. As i've been told, the size of this particular vessel is quite advantagous to some of our terraforming operations throughout Liberty and Bretonia. A vessel of this size would allow us to ship entire terraforming platforms in one piece from A to B. The defence systems also provide an advantage over the Gaians that are now swarming Perth and the surrounding area.
Planetform, Inc. hereby places an order for three of these vessels to be commissioned into our shipping fleet once we find the captains and crew to man them. We trust you will accept our request and add our order onto the production line at Scarborough. Opening.... From: Howard Andrews, Planetform, Inc., Cantebury Station Topic: BOWEX "Shire" Container Transport Officials of Border Worlds Exports In addition to our most recent message to you we would like to order a specialised vessel of this type alongside our initial order. In exchange for the expanded cargo hold we would like it replaced with an interior office complex spanning approximatley 250 metres wide by 63 stories high. The blueprints have been given to your engineers upon our last visit to Scarborough and I trust they have kept them intact. Additional payment will be supplied for the work that needs to be done in order to outfit the vessel accordingly.
We hope you will reply more hastily this time, as time is not a commodity we have in abundance. Sincerely Howard Andrews A Request for a particular BOWEX vessel - Death.RunningVerminator - 10-28-2009 Bump. We're waiting Bowex... anyone home? A Request for a particular BOWEX vessel - jammi - 10-28-2009 To: Planetform rep. From: Chief Technician Colin Tobert, Scarborough. The request has just been confirmed by Corporate HQ. We've begun to source the materials for the three standard stock Shire's, the construction of which should begin imminently. Alternately, we have one or two Shires already constructed and sitting in dry dock, although these particular craft would not have been crafted to your exacting specifications.
As for your... Special order. You may find 63 stories to be a little excessive, and in flagrant breach of the laws of physics should they be crammed into a Shire. Alternately, you could go for a pygmy look, with each floor having a head height of roughly... 1.7 foot? I'd advise you rethink that particular order. However, there are options for squeezing more office space into the ship. One example would be to gut the ship and reconstruct the interior sideways, so the stories go 'down' the ship, rather than 'up' it. This would of course, be hideously expensive, due to the fact we'd have to rewire the artificial gravity and reinforce the exterior hull to stop it collapsing with the removal of interior supports. Then of course, there will be the problems of station mooring. When the station's gravity field reasserts itself over the ship's one, sideways will suddenly become down. Of course, I'm sure you'll find a way around that. Costs for this special request will be calculated once we receive reasonable construction demands. As for the delay, Bowex is not accustomed to trawling through wanted adds in the general cortez. I'd advise addressing future queries to the Department of Trade and Industry. Oh, one more thing. There is an administrative fee of roughly five million credits that covers corporate construction tax, levies and general administrative charges. this should be sent to the QCG|Treasury. Thank you for your correspondence.

Opening.... From: Howard Andrews, Planetform, Inc., Cantebury Station Topic: BOWEX "Shire" Container Transport Officials of Border Worlds Exports After looking closer into the numbers it seems there's been a slight misprint into the multi-story floor count. Now corrected we'd like to replace the order for this vessel to have 36 floors instead of 63 installed into the converted hold. Although it is not our usual engineering prospects our architects are used to, I have been assured that on a planar level the theoretical story count would be at approximatley 26, but due to the split design in the lower half of each container, the complex itself must be split into two resulting in two seperate floors. This also calls for an additional elevator to be installed that I believe we already had put into our original schematic designs.
As the floors have been split on the bottom four levels, we would like each seperate floor to be named after the level number and a letter code corresponding to it's location on each side of the vessel. A typical A, B code would be satisfactory, but we leave any variations or better alternatives for your engineers to decide. We thank you for agreeing to our deal and the additional administrative fees will be transferred in the coming days. Some of our best and most deserving captains will soon be ready to take the docked Shire Transports off your hands in the next few weeks. We will be sure to keep you updated on the quantity in our possession and their ship designations for your records. Best Regaurds Howard Andrews |
