Slomon K'Hara questions - Not Espi - 10-28-2009 alright. im writing a story to join the keepers. ive read the lore and wiki, but there are some things im interested in. please try not to reply with any random theory and possibly without +1 posts. thanks First of all Do the nomads have individual opinions or are they all like a single mind, only individually responding to the situation around them? What im asking is is for example - are there pacifist and/or more warmonger nomads among the same cast? (Very important for the rp im working on) Then there is this thing about oxygen. wiki states Quote:Due to the allergic like symptoms that the specimens show when exposed to an atmosphere high in Oxygen, it has become increasingly difficult for researchers to obtain a stable and live subject. and the lore states that they "inhabit water-based environment". which might sound kind of contradictive. this is just an idea but since the molecule of water contains oxygen and it had to be created somehow, oxygen is present on a planet containing water, therefore rending it a hostile environment to the nomads. perhaps it would be better to swap a water-based environment for a liquid-methane-based one? Slomon K'Hara questions - Titan - 10-28-2009 Quote:Do the nomads have individual opinions or are they all like a single mind, only individually responding to the situation around them? Both, they're individuals focused around a single unified goal, sharing experiences, memories and "beliefs" or whatever you'd like to call that:P Quote:What im asking is is for example - are there pacifist and/or more warmonger nomads among the same cast? (Very important for the rp im working on) They work towards removing the humans from Sirius, there is no pacifist or warmonger goal, they simply use whatever means necessary. As for the last question, not sure what source you quoted from..been gone for a while so uncertain if its from the lore:P Edit: Ah just saw, its from the wiki, well don't listen to that, lore is your answer:P Slomon K'Hara questions - Not Espi - 10-28-2009 ah thank you .. more to come in time Slomon K'Hara questions - chovynz - 10-28-2009 ' Wrote:Both, they're individuals focused around a single unified goal, sharing experiences, memories and "beliefs" or whatever you'd like to call that:P Fixed. That info was not correct. Slomon K'Hara questions - Not Espi - 10-28-2009 that was one of the things that confused me .. since the nomads in vanilla didn't seem to have a problem moving in a breathable atmosphere on the prison station in alaska .. Slomon K'Hara questions - Tenacity - 10-28-2009 Quote:Do the nomads have individual opinions or are they all like a single mind, only individually responding to the situation around them? Nomads can have individual personalities, but they still act as one. There are different castes within nomad society (wanderers, dreamers, keepers, advisors, etc.) which have different purposes as well - and personality often fits the purpose of the individual form. Quote:and the lore states that they "inhabit water-based environment". which might sound kind of contradictive. this is just an idea but since the molecule of water contains oxygen and it had to be created somehow, oxygen is present on a planet containing water, therefore rending it a hostile environment to the nomads. Nomads live in space, where there is no oxygen. Nomads do not breathe like planet-born creatures do, thus they cannot "drown" when submerged. The only thing Nomads need to survive is energy, usually obtained from Solar sources. Thier biological/psychological logistics aren't quite the same, and so it's sometimes possible to revert to some human instincts or brain patterns. As for the whole liquid hoohah, I've a feeling it may not just be your bog standard tap water. I'd imagine theres some crazy chemicals or artificial colours and preservatives in there aswell. Don't eat too many, they'l turn you purple. (Very important for the rp im working on)They're neither. Castes define their role within the society, reflecting upon behavior patterns and areas they tend to inhabit, i.e. wanderers stay far out, they're survivalists and are good at it, like being able to go dormant state in times when they need to conserve energy resources, in terms of role-play they're mostly fit for those sticking to in-game role-play almost exclusively, and people who like to play solo. Advisors on the other hands are never seen outside of the main structures, at least not by any normal means, they're perfect for forum role-play and behind-the-scene characters pulling the strings around the story. Dreamers would be the closest to "pacifist" type, relying mostly on visions and mind tricks. Hybrids are tad different cause they're right between the two worlds, they're best to explore and explain Nomads from a somewhat human perspective. Slomon K'Hara questions - Boss - 10-28-2009 ' Wrote:Do the nomads have individual opinions or are they all like a single mind, only individually responding to the situation around them? Neither, really. When one can see and hear and smell and taste and touch and breathe the thoughts of everyone else, there's no real individuality. Doesn't mean they/we don't have an individual personality, but Nomads are far more intimately connected to one another than any human relationship. As Yuri said, no. It's about the castes, though depending on the Nomad and the objectives at hand, they may or may not attack. It's a case-by-case thing. If you're unsure about that in particular, might try the Helpdesk forum. Lore wins. Also, just because water's formula is H2O does not mean it's harmful in that state. I can take hydrochloric acid and neutralize it with a base, then pour it over my head and nothing will happen. Yes, it has the elements of a dangerous acidic compound, but it's not in a form that can cause injury. Hope that helps. Slomon K'Hara questions - Not Espi - 10-31-2009 how about nomad lifespan? how long does one body live until dying of old age? |
