What can a lawman really do against Slavers? - Pinko - 11-12-2009

Well, pretty simple question: Can a lawful really destroy a slaver with a hold full of slaves? Since they all are enclosed in prisons and such, none of them would actually stand a chance to survive, no matter how you'd like to RP it out. Of course, it isn't practical to move around with 2000 transports to collect slaves. What can a lawman really do against Slavers without being executed for mass murdering?

Nothing. They should let you go every time.

Of course if they blow you up you should delete the character.

well its nice of you to say that:)

But if you really think about this for a second you can notice that you do not have much choice here.. If it would be more realistic.. A lawman would damage your ship to a state you cannot move no more.. and board it

So when i destroy a slaver i could RP that this is what i just did... Or the old "We do not negotiate with terrorists" so actually the blowing up part is the only outcome because its still a game but you can RP it how ever.

Slaves are better off dead than toiling in the razor cardamine fields of Malta.

Or, just RP that you didn't blow them up, you disabled them and boarded and moved all the slaves away on police/military/allied transports (who happen to be NPCs). It just looked like you blew up the ship, due to game function limitations.

Just don't RP arresting the slaver(s) after boarding their ship, since that's pretty hard godmoding. They escaped on escape pods, as usual.

Then the ship was scrapped once the slaves were safely freed.

Without game mechanics hampering you there are actually a brace ton of things a lawman can do against a slaver.

Hiding behind game mechanics and such? Gets a tad more complicated.

Most of slaves would sign up for a swift death by explosion. Think of it as doing them a favor.

Also, you can force him to drop them off at freeport.

I always think, that all slaves aren't held in cells - conscious and standing, but kept in stasis boxes of sorts. that way thay don't need to breathe or eat... And een if the slaver explodes, all those boxes are drifting in space.
