No.
There is no and will be no /giveitem command. I don't think I even need to state the reasons why.

I understand why cant be there /giveitem command. I was more interesting in other options, like jettisoning it somewhere and picking it up with other ship, I am just not sure if it stays floating long enough for me to swap ships

There are ways.. ok first would be "Ask a friend" Second would be "Drop F-1 and Tractor" third would be "short multiboxing which is allowed to transfer an item"

Find a friend and/or member of [The~Angels] to help you with it. There's no good way to do it other than that- unless there's people around, FL removes items rather quickly.

Usually, I pick a nice, secluded base, undock and then drop the item.
I then switch to my other character (who I make sure is docked at the same base) undock, and tractor.
If you do this, make sure
A) No one else is around
B) The server is nowhere near full (which helps with A)
C) Your internet isn't going to die
D) The server has been stable for some time
Otherwise you could lose the item - they disappear after a set amount of time. I'm not sure what it is, but it's rather short.
Or you could ask a friend.

Items disappear after someone goes about 5k away from em. So a F1ed ship will keep said item there for 59 seconds.

Items exist if there's nothing near them, albeit just for a little while.
