so ive been in tau 44 to get a nyx, only to find out it's a remnant guard system now. so where does img buy the nyx these days?

There's also an IMG guard system in Tau 39. Jumphole is west of the jumphole to Tau 37 in Tau 23.

Actually, its only buyable in Tau-44, which make no sense, the IMG itself should be able to buy it without having to ask permission to the CR.

why can an img ship only be bought in a CR guard system? it's a puzzle for me.

when it says IMG in Tau44, its actually referring to the CR, not the IMG.
its an old bug, because CR used to use IMG iff/id's
they got their own system before the CR iff thing was sorted out.
if you buy anything in Tau 44, and it says IMG on it, just replace IMG with CR.
the Nyx used to be an IMG ship, but now its mainly CR.
we still have a few around here and there, so we still claim some of the rights to it, but CR claims most of those rights.
all of this is supposed to be sorted out with the next mod release.

soooo .. when the new update arrives, the charon is an img ship and a the nyx, which is basically charon mk2 is a cr ship? am i getting this right?

The Charon was a test model for the Nyx. The Nyx is used predominantly by =CR=, and is by far the most commonly used of their ships. I don't think I've ever once seen it outside of =CR='s hands, for that matter. I do see plenty of Raven's Talons - the other IMG VHF - however.
Couldn't speak for the rest of the shipline.

Nah, Nyx is IMG/CR, sold by CR.
Charon is now Civilian.
