logchat issues - Not Espi - 11-29-2009 alright the description says it all. last night when i opened it to use some conversations in a story it was all there. today, i launched freelancer and the pc crashed when i was trying to refresh the server list. power went down for about a half a minute, but this is not the issue. i decided to look at the story again and see what i can add, and the DSAce.txt in my documents folder says these two words: Freelancer Started and this is the second time I KNOW OF this happened. so where's the catch? i use the -logchat suffix in the freelancer link on my desktop and i don't type it ingame. could this be the catch? thanks logchat issues - Boss - 11-29-2009 If you started the game from Freelancer Account Manager, it won't work. To be honest though, I'm not sure. Can you please paste the contents of your shortcut's Target field? logchat issues - Not Espi - 11-29-2009 i dont use the account manager, so i guess that isn't it. target: ...\EXE\freelancer.exe -logchat -s87.72.29.113:2302 that's all i have another link also including the -w suffix for windowed game, sometimes i use that one, if it helps. i didnt use that one for about 2 days or so logchat issues - Boss - 11-29-2009 ' Wrote:i dont use the account manager, so i guess that isn't it. Mine looks like this: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE\Freelancer.exe -logchat -logappend -logtime -s87.72.29.113:2302 -s<whatever the D-USA IP is> logchat issues - Not Espi - 11-29-2009 ' Wrote:Mine looks like this: sorry to cause confusion D:\games\freelancer\EXE\freelancer.exe -logchat -s87.72.29.113:2302 i thought the d:\games\freelancer part was irrelevant logchat issues - Not Espi - 11-29-2009 so should i use logappend instead of logchat? does logchat rewrite the file completely? or are they the same commands? edit: or both? logchat issues - Boss - 11-29-2009 They both need to go together. -logappend instructs DSAce to add the new log to the end of the old file. logchat issues - DeathsOverture - 11-29-2009 Use both. ' Wrote:- New command line option '-logappend'. When this option is used the DSAce.log is not overwritten when Freelancer is started. Edit: All yours Boss:P(Ninja'd!) logchat issues - Not Espi - 11-29-2009 excellent. thanks for the instahelp. ps: do they sell a 'boss in a can - just add water' somewhere these days?:P |
