I think it would balance a lot better if Solaris turrets had reasonable range.
Say, have their range either be that of the basic turret for that type of vessel, or that of the SNAC.

f you wanna shoot a bomber or fighter, use smaller ship and dont cry for solaris. Hard to kill a full loaded solaris ship, because usually there is another one solaris lolcap. Learn to play with smaller ship...
If you like capitals and dont wanna die by bombers, own escorts. A large ship with escort wing is more RP than without it too.

Just like any other ship. People made Anti Fighter Bombers before with dual razors.

Usually I meet around 10 times how a lolcap shoot my VHF, with zero engangement notice. I dont write reports because my game time has more value. For these players I cant maintain any solaris stupidity. As I know we want lesser lolcap, but I just read that in all topic, how can we make them stronger and stronger.. :rtfm:
You said 3 bombers can shoot down a BS. OMG! I say, 3 men, who can "fly" cant shoot down one, who can "powertrading". For it not need 100% balance in a game. The 4.85 is a cap mod now too. :(
