History

The history of the Liberty Revolutionary Front (LRF) starts with the Liberty Worker's Party (LWP), a far left party founded in 805 AS within Liberty's complex republican system. While never attaining any representative seats, they were very much a response to the brutal labor conditions experienced by workers in the Colorado and Texas systems. Especially ones used as prison slave labour, due to the fact that many such people were imprisoned on shaky or false terms. With their political ambitions cut short, many of the LWP started a campaign of civil disobediance, striking out at the corruption of Liberty.

Their main targets were the Big Three corporations whose campaign contributions and outright bribing had bought them many politicians on Manhattan. Through a campain of protests, graffiti, hunger strikes, and access denial, they were able to bring awareness to their cause. However, the response of the Liberty authorities was swift. Many were arrested, countless others fined and effectively the LWP was broke with legal fees. This was alleviated by donations from sympathizers from all over Liberty due to a series of brilliant public speeches by Lachlan Phoenix, a rising star of the organization.

The civil disobedience campaign continued but to not much avail. Many inside the Party, including Lachlan Phoenix began speaking of more impactful protests including sabotage and simulated detention. The leadership of the LWP was wary of the idea as any more LPI responses could very well be the end of the party. In spite of Phoenix's arguments, the LWP decided against the idea and removed him from his position.

It was at this time that a proposal was brought upon the legislative body to strip the LWP of its offical party status, meaning it could no longer legally accept political donations. Through a series of legal loopholes and procedural irregularities, the LWP was cast out of the political system. Lachlan Phoenix seized this opportunity to start a violent campaign of reprisals.

In response, several members led by Phoenix planted bombs at various sites owned by Ageira, Universal Shipping, and Interspace Commerce. The simultaneous blasts were coordinated with an attack on LPI headquarters on Manhattan, leading to the kidnapping of several junior LPI officers. The ransom demands were not met and two days after the deadline the officers were executed. Believing this to be the work of the LWP, the Liberty Authorities quickly declared them an illegal party. Those who weren't arrested joined Phoenix in his campaign.

The Liberty Revolutionary Front was born.

Operations

Terrorism: Hit and run bombings of Liberty Authorities, and Big Three company ships, depots and facilities.

Disruption of Operations: LRF pilots would interdict shipping demanding the transports drop their cargo or be destroyed.

Kidnapping: Ransoming captured pilots.

Ranks

There are no effective ranks within the Front. Operatives are organized into cells with each cell having a leader that reports directly to Ben Warner, the Cell Leader.

----------------

OORP Information.

Basically, this would be different from SCRA in the sense that this is essentially a terrorist faction like the Red Army Faction, contrary to a military force like the SCRA is in the game. The feel leans more towards small cells of terriorists organizing bombings and kidnappings as opposed to engaging on open battles.

As far as the terrorist operations go, I'll explain this a bit more. Basically, a group LRF pilots would engage a single target, destroy it and run away. This would not happen daily as I don't want the label of a PVP whore. The majority of operations would be spent disrupting operations - drop the cargo or die, and that's only against Liberty corporation ID'd traders. Independent traders and Freelancers are neutral.

Kidnapping is purely RP. Since we can't kidnap players, LPI and Navy NPC pilots would be ransomed RP-wise. Whether or not the actual ransom is paid is not the main concern, good RP interaction is. This unfortunately is also dependant on the other side RPing back and I can't guarantee how successful this will be.

Just a quickie..Tabris is now the idea owner. We discussed this a while back when we were both on a break and he's in charge. Technically he was a behind the scenes leader most of the time and he invested a lot of effort into this - no sense in letting it die. As it stands right now, I'm not back on Disco and not in the near future. Regardless, Tabris will lead whether I return or not so give him your support people. He deserves it.

Liberty Revolutionary Front (LRF) - Tabris - 12-04-2009

Thank you Shryke, moving onwards, LRF will NOT be using Capital ships in the near future, reasoning for this is as follows.

A: Lack of Resources for LRF to BUILD any ships larger than a Bomber.

B: Lack of Facilities to BUILD anything bigger than a Bomber.

C: Capital Ships are too easy a target and the only reason we would ever have one is to either RP reasons or to dismantle it for more resources to put into Fighter/Bomber Production.

On another note, black market does NOT mean "I got a Wraith of the black market! So i can use it!", more along the line of stuff Pirates would use and Civies would use that are not normally aquired in Liberty space.

I like it! People might get confused over the Unioner IFF in liberty and shout, but considering the angle you guys are going for, it makes sense! I definitely like how you remain hostile to most criminal groups especially ones smuggling Cardiamine. Give the outcasts more enemies, keep the population down in Liberty. And I salute you for keeping the LRF to Bomber class and below. Realizing your limits as a small guerrilla style force, you shouldn't be flying around in big bad caps. Maybe a gunboat or transport here and there but keep it small.

KUDOS

Liberty Revolutionary Front (LRF) - jimmy Patterson - 12-05-2009

ok i was orginally agenst this because it in all honesty seemed like just another repaint of the SCRA or various other piracy forces the new standing looks good

Liberty Revolutionary Front (LRF) - Tabris - 12-08-2009

THYPilot, thank you for your words, we hate Cardamine because usually it's the workers of Liberty who are affected by it and get addicted, as for staying below Bomber level, well our tactics are alot of hit and run, can you really see a Capital ship being able to do that without 5 or so bombers on him within a minute?;)

Jimmy, thanks, it may look like a repainting at first, but LRF has now gained it's own little operating scheme which differs from SCRA in several ways, so be ready to fight us mate.;)We'll be comming for you and all Liberty Navy forces soonly. ^_^

Liberty Revolutionary Front (LRF) - Koolmo - 12-09-2009

Heya mate, mind giving those guns back to Katz until you get an RP request approved? Thanks.
