HELP! - Cuteness - 06-12-2007 I accidentally tried deactivating discovery... then I stopped it by ending the program mid-deactivation. Now I can't get into the server AND I can't deactivate it to reactivate it! It keeps saying Error: FLMM has determined that 'Discovery Mod v4.83' won't properly deactivate. Warning: unable to restore 'c:\program files\microsoft games\freelancer\exe\freelancer.ini' because no backup exists! (test run) I do not wish to reinstall...because, seems like its possible to safe accounts or something during it... if I have to I will, but I'd like to try everything before losing my 'lil credit account. (I can still play 1.0 freelancer, just not discovery... deleting discovery via going to its folder and deleting it and then installing it did not work. I put this Freelancer.ini file in allmost every folder in the freelancer installation place, and it still said "GRR NO BACKUP WHY ARE YOU A IDIOT".) HELP! - Razr - 06-12-2007 Did you try restoring backups? If you did and that didn't work try deleting discovery mod and FLMM then try downloading them both. Try to activate it again. should work. HELP! - Exile - 06-12-2007 Yes, had the same remove EVERYTHING of freelancer, uninstall it. remove the left over folders. remove the mod manager, and its left over folders. then reinstall it all. and enjoy. a way to make sure this prop doesnt happen : yust wait when it stalls, itl be done deactivating after the stall. Ex HELP! - Hyperwave22 - 06-12-2007 There's probably another way, but I'm pretty sure the quickest and fastest way to fix this is to first try to delete discovery, then download and install it again. If that doesn't work, the complete reinstall should. If you click on reinstall, most of your stuff should be saved, but I would suggest to uninstall, then install again to eliminate any corrupt files. Now, you can still save your account by finding your freelancer account ID. Go to: Right click on Freelancer icon -> 'properties' -> 'find target' -> 'myflaccountid' Here's the location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE And finally, try this link for further information: Saving Freelancer Account ID Thread I hope that this helps you out a bit. Hype HELP! - Cuteness - 06-12-2007 Quick replies for the win! I'm cheaking on all this suggested stuff now. AH... I get it (I get how you save characters). i'll reinstall freelancer, Thanks! URGH! I uninstalled and the SAME thing happened... HELP! - BestFlyerHere - 06-12-2007 Use System Restore to put your comp back to the way things were... Why didn't anyone think of that? |
