Steiner, being born on Planet Hamburg, had parents employed in Republican Shipping. Naturally, after a run and Steiner being with relatives, they'd come back with stories to tell, some exaggerated, some not. Karl was intrigued by the tales he heard. After he finished primary education, he went to flight school to learn how to pilot a space ship. At first, he did a little bit of trading, such as his parents did before him. They were excited, and eagerly helped him buy his own freighter, a somewhat used Humpback freighter, from a ship dealer on Hamburg.
After a couple years, he got tired of trading. It was boring, to him, long expanses of time with little to no interaction or anything to do. It wasn't before long when he went off, trying to find other ventures of work. He tried mining for a while, the pay was decent, but he found it just as boring as trading. One day, he noticed a recruitment add for the Rheinland Military. It piqued his interest, as not only the promised pay was good, it also was for, what he thought, was a good cause, one where he can not only make money for himself, assist civilians in trouble, but hopefully, not be bored to tears. "Maybe", he thought, "This is where I belong?"
And here he is now, in the process of enlisting in the military.

Background Information: Born on Planet Nuremberg as a son of an upper middleclass family he had a pretty normal childhood grewing up without any lacks in money or goods, but also without any unneccesary luxury. His schoolmarks have always been slightly above average, at least if you don't consider maths and art that much. Gathered his first flight expiriences on a few trips he did in the latest holidays where he was helping a friend of the family to transport his furniture to planet holstein in the frankfurt system when his family moved there. Went through his final exams this year with quite some success, but as his friends and him went out to planet new berlin to celebrate that they were attacked by a small group of liberty soldiers who fortunately did not open fire. Once he saw the fear in the eyes of his friends as they thought they would die there the only thought in his mind was "what can i do to protect them?". Jonas Schmidt was born on Planet Hamburg near Hafen City at the 30th January 796 A.S. as a child of a middle class family. During his primary education he developed a strong interest in flying. Unfortunately his family had not enough money to support this interest financial.
He absolved the primary education with average grades and decided to continue his education at the University of Hafen City, where he studied Betriebswitschaftslehre (buisness studies), because he thought he later would earn enough money through his study, to finance a pilot license and finally buy a ship. During his first semster brake he found an offer by Republican Shipping on the notice board of the University, saying that Republican Shipping is searching for temporary pilots to fly small freighters. Linked with this job offer there also was an offer for a cheap credit to earn a pilot license with the help of Republican Shipping. "This is my chance to realise my dream of getting a pilot license!" Jonas thought to himself and signed in for the job.
Jonas was accepted by Republican Shipping and spent the semester brake in the flight scool and finally got the pilot license. During the other semester brakes of his study he worked for Republican Shipping as temporary pilot, where he earned nearly no money, because he had to pay off the credit.
Becasue of the contact and some talks to other Republican Shipping pilots, Jonas found out about the frequent and sometimes very dangerous pirate attacks on civilians and corporations. While a trade run together with another temporary pilot he even was intercepted by pirates himself. The pirates demanded the cargo of the two freigthers and threatened to shoot anyone not complying. Unfortunately the other pilot lost his nerves and tried to run. Of course the 2 pirates opened fire on the fleeing freighter and of course the freighter didn`t stand a chance and was blown away quite fast. Luckily the pilot managed to bail out with his escape pod before the freighter exploded. When the pilot ejected Jonas rushed in to traktor him into his freighter and tried to flee. The pirates pursued them and Jonas had problems to shake the pirates of. When the pirates approached more and more Jonas decided to eject the cargo to distract them from the freighter. The pirates stoped, which allowed Jonas to escape and dock on a Republican Shipping base. Without his cargo and the second freighter, but alive.
After this dangerous occourance Jonas decided not to take a job in the economy, as he originally intended to, but to join the Rheinland Military and protect others form experiencing such things as he did. After he finisched his study, he signed in in the secondary fleet first, to make sure this is really what he wants to do.
After some time in the secondary fleet he was sure and handed in an application to a recruitement center in Hafen City.
Basic Personality Traits: Logical thinking; Wouldn`t start a forlorn fight, but also wouldn`t abandon anyone regardless of the situation.

(Apologies if I get some basic elements of chronology wrong; I must admit that I do not know how long the Houses have been at war in the present day, so some of the pre-war story may be nonsensical)
Hubert Gruber was born on Stuttgart, the oldest child of a large family. With eight children to attend to, Gruber's mother had her hands full as a full-time mother and housekeeper, relying entirely on the income of her husband, Pieter, a farm labourer. Although times were trying and the family only barely survived the hardship that followed Rheinland's economic depression following the Nomad War, disaster was to strike when Hubert reached the age of seventeen. Synth Foods' latest tier of expansion encompassed Pieter's farming cooperative and improved mechanisation and automation resultant from the Liberty firm's efficient technologies resulted in the labourer losing his job. For Pieter, who had long watched the injustices enacted upon Stuttgart's labour, resultant from the economic liberalisation of the Rheinland economy, this was the last straw; Hubert's disgruntled father threw his lot in with the Landwirtrechtbewegung, trusting his eldest son to assume his place as the family's breadwinner: As much as his wife may have despaired at him for his decision, Pieter maintained that the good of the nation came before that of his family. The episode left Gruber with severely conflicting emotions and thoughts: On the one hand, his father was correct; the economic reforms of Rheinland and the predatory corporate policies of the Liberty auslanders did indeed seem to be destroying his planet's very way of life, yet this did not warrant a man abandoning his family to almost certain poverty. Indeed, Gruber's bitterness was only fed further as he was unable to find work and his family lost their home, whilst all the while yet more of his friends, relatives and associates were unable to work: Yet this could not translate into nationalist fervor or a desire to see the fatherland rise once more, as ultimately it was because of the Landwirtrechtbewegung that his father had deserted them and worsened his loved ones' ordeal, yet this man was still Hubert's father and he loved him; even as the very sentinels that Gruber believed should be helping the people of Stuttgart and, by extension, the Landwirtrechtbewegung, were hunting him. Gruber was never to hear from his father again and eventually came to accept he was likely dead; the military crackdowns evidently were at least partly effective; thusly, Gruber did and likely would have continued to hold the Rheinwehr in scant regard if events did not transpire the way they did. Indeed, other youths in his situation would have jumped at the chance to enlist if it meant steady pay, accommodation and a pension.
The war changed everything. Although Hubert had only known the economic impact of the Nomad War, the new War Between the Houses would change everything: Suddenly the Libertonian foe was fair game, when the war was declared, the property belonging to Synth foods burned: Landwirtrechtbewegung sympathisers across the planet descended upon the various Liberty enclaves and destroyed all that was before them. The newly liberated land was placed once more under Rheinlander ownership and the new ownership at once set toward expansion to meet the demands of wartime; Hubert's siblings that were old enough were able to find work and he was no longer tied down as the only breadwinner. This was a time for introspectiveness for Hubert, his nation was standing on his feet once more and for the first time in his life he had the power to decide what he was going to do. As much as he may have detested the military, there was an opportunity to further support his mother, to finally get back at those who had ravaged Stuttgart and to fly, safe in the knowledge that for once the military was fighting the auslanders and not men like his father.

Background Information:Gunther Hartmann borned in 792 A.S. in a small city where his father was a military officer and teached him the hard life of an officer. His education longed ended in the university at 22 years old and started to learn the basic flights on an old ship called 'Tiger Shark'. After he passed his tests flights he realized that his place is in space and he signed first at one of the private companys as escort fighter in a brand new Eagle. His first escort didn't went very well as his convoy got ambushed by hessians in Sttutgart where he lucky got saved by a Military Patrol. When he saw the Military coming to help them he just had some old memories from what his father teached him. After 2 years in space he learned alot and started to gather some experiences on his flights he realized that his place was on the battlefield and not as a baby sitting for transports. 4 years later he decided to improve his flighting abilitys and headed to Planet Stuttgart. On his way he got a distress called from republican ship near planet Baden Baden where it was under heavy fire by hessians, his only way to get out of that ambush was to help the republican ship. After that incident he realised that his days of thinking came to an end when at 26 years old he decided that Rheinland needed pilots for the war with Liberty and the threats from Omegas. He realized that his place it's along with other Military Officers and that he's eager to get ahold on one of the finest agile Rheinland ship class codename 'Wraith'.

4 years before the beginning of the Nomad Wars, Samuels father Timothy Masterson, a rich officer of the Bretonian Armed Forces came to Baden-Baden for Vacation. There he met Kerstin Heine, his future wife. He left his military career behind and decided to stay in Rheinland.
Soon after their son Samuel was born. He grew up far away from all dangers of Sirius and knew them only from his father's narrations. During the Nomad War he heard, like almost every children from the adventures of Edison Trent and decided to become a great Pilot when grown up. The typical foolish dream of a little boy.
With 17 years he finished school and started studying economy at the New Berlin University. He forgot his old dream long ago. But soon this should change. With the rising war between Kusari and Bretonia Samuels father had to return into active duty in the BAF. His son decided to follow him as soon as possible. He give up his study and applied at the Fleet Academy. It was a hard time to train and learn everyday while his father was fighting, and the ongoing series of Kusari victorys made it even harder.
All the time he expected to hear the message of his father's death or the final defeat of Bretonia. Samuel workd as hard as possible to finish training as fast as he can.
He just finished as the Liberty attack begins. A decision had to be made. Fighting with the father in Bretonia or defending his own Homeland. But this decision was a easy one. And so he spent his saved money for a Wraith an started to write his application for the Rheinland Military

Nico Lukas Durr was born on Planet Hamburg with a Father in the Military and only his mother to watch over him. His family was an average middle class family living on Planet Hamburg during the war and had a normal life. His mother was always waiting to hear from her husband and keeping Nico informed if anything happened. Nico's father was stationed at Westfalen on patrols and frequently encountered navy threats.
When Nico was 18, the Navy had invaded Hamburg once again. This time he went with his mother to Westfalen to see his dad again. On his way there a Liberty Navy squad of fighters stopped the convoy, and then soon after opened fire. Nico was one of the only survivors of the explosion as he made it to a escape pod with a friend. His mother was killed in the explosions and he vowed he would help Rheinland win the war against Liberty.After being found by a Rheinland military patrol and dropped off at West Fallen he decided to sign up for the Rheinland Military. First he met his father, first seeing that he was horribly injured he ran over to him and found out what happened. Nico's father was discarged honorably from the Rheinland Military with severe injuries.
In the next two years he took care of his father. They were on their way to New Berlin from Freeport 2 to get a few things. After undocking in his Rheinland ship he went to the Hamburg gate. He was attacked by another Navy patrol causing his ship to loose power and the life-support to be very low. It was a few hours since anyone passed by the ship and Nico was barley alive. The trader managed to get Nico to get on to his ship so he could be treated since he was cut up a little from shrapnel. After a while Nico saw that his father was dead. He thanked the trader for saving his life and trying to save his father. He was dropped off at planet Hamburg and after a few days he decided it was time to help win the war.

Background Information: Arion Vontagon was born in a rough part of Hamburg during his
early years of his childhood he seemed to always be the kid that everyone picked on. Though he
did not let it get to him somethings can never go away. Due to the lack of jobs his father Terion
Vontagon enlisted in the RM to help support his son Arion and his wife Shana Vontagon who was ill
from a disease unknown to the doctors on Hamburg. Arion's father was the best pilot rheinland
has seen in years and was rewarded with many medals. Arion looked up to his father as a
amazing role model. With his father still in the RM Shana shortly passed away after 2 years since
Terion enrolled. At this time Arion was 20 years old and with no income he decided to enroll in the
pre flight school for cadet militants. Arion spent 5 years training to be the best just like his father.
Arion was known for his evasive maneuvers of hardly ever getting shot. After he graduated pre
flight school Arion enlisted in the RM his father now a Admiral upon the RNC Hempton.

Background Information: As a child Lukas was brought up in a family of soldiers. His Father, Anton Schmitz was A Lt. in the Military, known for his bravery during the end of the 80 years war, his Mother, Franzsiska Schmitz, a Pilot in the Federal Police, a great logicist, always had the brains to account for every situation and his older brother, Frauke Schmitz, a Fw. in the military, stationed in Munich assigned with the mission of wiping the Landwirtrechtbewegung from the system. As a child Lukas wanted to carry on the family tradition as servants of the Rheinland, It all started on the Westphalia, when he was watching his Father fighting some Bundschuh pirates, as the pirates were destroyed one by one, Lukas became very proud of his Father and asked him how he could be like him one day, Anton replied "Well son, maybe when your a bit older i'll explain it to you". As Lukas grew up on New Berlin he heard the reports of victorys of the Military over groups like the Liberty Navy and Unioners. At 16 Anton was commissioned to Hamburg to assist in the threat of Liberty invading the system, he was based at the Battleship Westfalen, and lived there for months at a time, and always asked if he could go and see him but he was always declined, being told "It was too dangerous right now, maybe when the threat of Liberty has died down you will be able to visit him" but that time never came, as Liberty started breaking through the blockades at the Hamburg gate an attack was imminent. While the pilots abord the Westfalen were asleep, an alarm sounded and all pilots were scrambled, the Navy was attacking! Anton rushed to his Mjolnir and began the undocking sequence, as his ship was leaving the docking port a silo of missiles was fired directly at the stern of the ship, this took down the sheilds of the Westfalen and left Anton stuck in the automated undocking sequence, the Navy fighters immediatley took advantage of this unfortunate moment and opened fire on his ship, Anton, knowing he had no hope of fighting them off ejected, by this time the Navy's main fleet had arrived and shelled the Battleship with Mortars and Flak Turrets, Anton's ejecter pod was caught in the crossfire, and his pod was blown open, he was now in open space, and faccing the mass of Liberty ships advacing slowly towards him, this was the last sight his Father was ever to see as he died of asphyxiation shortly afterwards. When the news of Antons death reached Lukas, he and his mother Franzsiska were distraught andLukas vowed to his mother he would follow in his footsteps and become a Officer of the Military. His mother has always supportive of him, and put money towards the finances of running a ship, Lukas has just handed in his application and is awaiting a result!
