Missing Textures - MB52 - 12-20-2009
Since the latest patch I've noticed a bunch of ships have the invisible skin bug... most notibly is my Bastet, which I can see when in space, but once I land on a planet it becomes invisible. I've also noticed the Order gunboat does the same, along with a few transports.
Now.. is this an issue with a bad patch installation? or maybe something messed up when I did my last big reinstall? (though everything worked good after that)
Any easy way to correct this issue?

sounds like a bad installation.
from what i know - we tried to minimize conflicting skinning and conflicting data identification. - invisible ships haven t happened to me ... so i believe it might be on your end.

i have been having the same issue.
my kingfisher can only be seen in space. it dissapears in the hanger. several ships(i think the homeworld ones) apear only in white with no textures. And i see people flying around in transports that are invisible, you can see thier guns and nav lights though so it actually looks kinda cool.

Well.. thats what I was worried about.. unfotnately my internet connection won't let me do any reinstalling any time soon.

I am having the same problem... I can see most default ships like normal.

I have it only with one ship,
the GRN obstinate cruiser, sometimes I have the council skin, and sometimes I have no skin at all,
but most of the times its good

I think the actual problem is that it doesn't find the model... It doesn't need the model to set the lights and weapons in right places. Also the texture would most likely be some template texture if it was about the texture (like blank white)
