As for why theyre needed, both factions otherwise have a full lineup of capital vessels.
However due to lack of cruiser class for IMG and lack of BC class for Zoners (and being green on the tech chart) IMG players wanting a cruiser have to use the corvo or fearless, and Zoner players wanting a BC have to fly the Argus.
For the IMG cruiser, Im thinking have it be on the same lines as the hydra GB and Argus cruiser.
The Hydra is flat, the Argus is long and blocky, have the cruiser be sort of in between the two in shape.
For the Zoners, the battlecruiser should be between the fearless and the juggy, a single bio dome, a huge senosor like on Jinx's lovley Corvo replacement, and generaly fit in the zoner 'look'. Also, as Zoner caps operate in the edge worlds with nomads (like order and BHG) it should have a thruster.
As for general shape... Im thinking a mix between the fearless and the Juggy. Basicly, give it a primary hull foward, a engine/biodone/skirt aft, as well as the towers dorsal/ventral like the fearless ( for the class10 mounts).

No, no, no and no.
First, the Zoners dont need a sixth Capital ship if you include the Gunboat. I mean, Zoners got enough already.
Second, why would the Zoners need a Battlecruiser? Zoners arent fighting, except in selfdefense.
Third, IMG cant afford a second Cruiser. They are just Miners, shouldnt even have a Cruiser. Especially not a Battleship.

Its a joint project between the Colonial Republic and the IMG.
Besides, they can have battlecruisers, just not AS MANY as Liberty or anything like that, in RP there should only be a few, like 2 or 3.
Besides, companies like Daumann were the ones who designed the Rheinland battleship and all, I see no harm in this being done.
As for the zoner one, we've already got 2 battleships. I think its best we don't need a battlecruiser, unless its got a good RP reason, but as far as I'm concerned, all the other vessels cover most of these RP reasons, for example, the Corvo is for research, the Aquilong for Exploration etc etc.

Daumann and other Mining Companies =/= IMG = Independant Miners Guild.
Means they are a random Bunch of Miners. I dont know, but I dont think they would support the IMG in making another Capital Ship.

Well you cant really say that.
-The Talarca (Corvo Cruiser) is an Exploartion Vessel.
-The Jinkusu is as known a Mobile Freeport.
-The Aquilon is a bigger and almost perfect Exploration Vessel
Only the Fearless is meant as a Defense for other Capital Ships and Freeports. A Battlecruiser on the other side is meant for an attack, not defense.

Unfortunately, the Jinkusu is usually roleplayed as a Battleship first and Colony ship second. And the Aquilon in the same away.
The fact that Jinkusu is labled as a "Dreadnaught" and the Aquilon is labeled as a "Carrier" doesn't help either.

The Jinkusu is a Juggernaught, not a Dreadnaught.
As you said, if Zoner Capital Ships are played as Battleships and Warships, then it is not the Zoners fault. It's the people playing wrong and not every Zoner should be blamed for that. There are enough people who play as Zoners as they should be. Dancing Lady with her Freeport 18 for example, as well saw a Freeport 17 recently.
