Respect, eh? - Sonja - 12-26-2009

' Wrote:// oorp: it's simple, tell certain primary fleet members to quit acting like arrogant tools, and they may get some respect in return.

Since you insist on mixing the views of your character with the view of yourself as a player, I'll join you. This is also a chance for you not to pollute RP posts with your // garbage.

In fact, let me get the ball rolling here.

The primary fleet, [LN] mainly, organises, puts into place, writes up and all other boring mundane things that we do.

The new laws.
The soon to exist criminal registry.
The embargo law (the IND part of which was conducted during an inRP skype chat).
Treaty of Bethlehem.
Paperwork this.
Paperwork that.
Diplomatic replies.

Tell me what you've done?
I'll tell you: Nothing.

There are a few indies who have earnt the respect of the fleet.
Jimmy Patterson is one of them.
Why?
Because he volunteered to put his ass in gear and do some work. He volunteered to kick the rest of the indies in gear.
He's also an excellent roleplayer.

There are scant few other indy players that have earnt the respect you think is your birthright.

You arent one of them.

There was no real need for this thread now was it?
We know how much the [LN] do. One individual should not be the reason of such a post.

Respect is to be given, not expected. Respect is to be given on merit.

The fact that this thread has been created is understandable. Liberty is the most popular house by far and thus needs more attention and effort put into managing it for it to work.

Sonja, I've seen what you've been doing over the last few months and I say kudos. Good job. And kudos to all of the people who have earned the respect in Liberty. It is by far harder to do in that area of space due to the constant pressure of new players and bad players crushing you.

Respect is earned. Respect is not given by default. I think that is what you really meant to say.

I saw "Primary Fleet" and I believed it was again a rant against Order|. Phew.

Agreed, if I was in a Liberty Dreadnaught, sitting next to Fleet Admiral Hale, I would answer to his every command without question. Because of respect, he has earned it.

Not just his ranking, as I'd ignore the commands of those I don't respect... Even if they are a superior rank.

Thank you. Yeh, that's more or less it.

Hey!I appreciate what you do,navy memebers...but don't be so arrogant! You wont earn any respect just sitting in a dreadnought and do some paperwork.

You will find the [LN] generally doesn't use caps. There are plenty of caps around to do that for us at the moment. The paperwork is endless, but we stay in the cockpit of a guardian most of the time...
