-- The Story of Takao Sasaki --

Takao was an ambitious young man growing up on Honshu when the tensions with Bretonia started. By the time he was 18 a full war had started. While his classmates were eager to join KNF and fight Bretonians Takao himself didn't feel like joining them. Fighting in foreign land for some "glory" without any deeper meaning was nothing for him.As soon as he was out of high school at the end of 815 he took first shuttle to Aomori and headed straight for the GMG desk. GMG security division welcomed him with open arms as they were hard pressed by both Corsairs and Outcasts.

Soon he was out in Sigma 13 in an old but perfectly working GHG Heavy Fighter (called Taiidan Heavy Fighter). He watched the security of GMG installations in the area but was regularly attacked by both Corsairs, Outcasts and rogue Blood Dragon "catamaran" bombers. Nevertheless he never lost his ship and did well at defending GMG interests in the area. With increasing number of Corsair "toolboxes" as well as Outcast Destroyers in the area his boss found it necessary that Takao flies a bomber.

By the start of 816 he was flying an aged "Taiidan" Bomber and was stationed on Naha. After several crushing defeats most of the "toolboxes" learned to avoid him. Reorganization in GMG saw the introduction of a new division mostly focused on combat and flying Zoner-made capital ship. This ensured safety of GMG operations in the area but also left Takao mostly without work. At the same time the flourishing trade in the area still attracted all kinds of pirates. Takao decided to leave GMG for good, bought his bomber from GMG and got mercenary indentification papers.

He was still stationed at Naha, just had to pay for everything from docking space to paint job. This wasn't a problem, however, as the tons of traders passing trough the area were very eager to spend their money on some anti-toolbox escort. At one point he joined forces with another mercenary for a big bounty on junker vessels. It went pretty well on the start with junker-commaned Rheinland Battleship as well as several small vessels being destroyed by the pair. Then one day as he walked to his bomber docked in Naha's docking bay he noticed that all of his weapons were missing. This made him loose thrust in the station's staff and he left for Tau systems never to return.

In Taus the CR was fighting and endless battle against Outcasts and were more than eager to hire a mercenary to help them with the hordes of capital ships. Times were again good for Takao and his wallet as well as his list of kills were growing faster and faster. Some of the pre-emptive strikes to Omicron Alpha even gained him some fame:

His ship however couldn't bear the strain of those fights forever. Already quite dated by 816 it certainly wasn't in better shape in 817. But then Takao heard about GMG fielding a new ship "Karasu" that was made for sale on the new Fujisawa base in Okinawa system. He headed there straight away and trough his contacts in GMG managed to get a good deal on the ship, leaving behind his old "Taiidan" bomber for scrapping. Back in Tau 23 the CR were getting even more pressed by the Outcasts and were happy to get another fighter for support, paying Takao generous sums of money.
