The pre-order on Steam is ?49.99... Should I get it with some of my Christmas ?170? It looks awesome, but I'm sure my PC will run it, as I have Mass Effect and L4D running at their best settings...

It looks stunning, my rig could probably just handle it.

But, capital ship combat looks like it suffers what capship combat here does. Namely, only able to target one thing at a time.

And it looks like it'll be pay per month, which is something I hate in games. So we shall see.

Looks like a great game, and i've got it preordered
plus, the open beta starts in a week

Star Trek Online - sean24 - 01-09-2010

Star Trek onlines going to be epic. I might join the open beta...but then again, dont want to ruin my first experiance of it looking for bugs and glitches.

The community forums is quite active there too. I think alot of people will play it:

-The whole Star Trek fan base
-The whole space sim fan base
-The whole MMORPG fan base

Yeah, bout a 85% chance of that :(

Looks like it's a watered down version of Freelancer with a few "skills" tbh.

Actually, I just remembered that I am in the current beta. Let me play the game and I'll get back to you.

Star Trek Online - sean24 - 01-09-2010

It reminds me more of EVE than FL tbh. There is no twitch based flight.

But one thing that sets it apart is that you can beam down from your ship and walk around on planets.

Star Trek Online - mwerte - 01-09-2010

Rumor mill is pricing it around $9-$15/month. I got the game, will play through using the provided month, and will decide from there.

Star Trek Online - Luis - 01-09-2010

Star Trek Online - ivr56 - 01-13-2010

Too bad I don't meet minimum video card x.x

Star Trek Online - Zig - 01-13-2010

Not going near this game myself. Will be subscribing to SW:TOR.
