Use of Capital Ships - RobinTheHood - 01-06-2010 So, finally bein able to try out a few capital ships online and not being really impressed by them, i wanted to ask what you use them for? I mean, yes, they pack a lot of firepower and staying power, but for RP they are a bit uninteresting. I havent bought a carrier yet, maybe I will try one tomorrow, but can they actually "carry" other ships? Can they act as mobile bases for fighters or is the "carrier" class simply " heavy battleship" class? Also, a few capitals are exceptionally poorly designed, at least from my fiew.... especially the gunplacement in a few cases looks like a 5 year old got drunk (bounty hunter capitals anyone?).... or do they have any special abilities i dont know about? And: where are the other cap players? Use of Capital Ships - Birdtalon - 01-06-2010 ' Wrote:And: where are the other cap players? They're hard to miss... Use of Capital Ships - Not Espi - 01-06-2010 i thought he meant GOOD cap players. those are hard to find actually. Use of Capital Ships - RobinTheHood - 01-06-2010 lol, most likely i am a real bad cap player too. however, i really dont actually find other cap players... ah, and what do you go for once you have a capital? i am somehow missing furhter goodies to get. Use of Capital Ships - Prysin - 01-06-2010 If you want good cap players, pop by minor/alpha/gamma.... i happen to know a FEW in those places.... though, dont get any high expectations.... normally its just a complete lolwut capspam there (well, alpha has been getting better lately, while gamma is reverting back to is former capspam) Minor..... well, lets do a little BH raid in there and you'll quickly find a 10-15 gebs/osirises after you, ofcourse, their indies.... Use of Capital Ships - Alex. - 01-06-2010 Minor/Alpha/Gamma/Liberty are the WORST places. Any player faction tagged cap is good. Go find them. I'm hoping to get a total of 4-5 from the The outcasts and Why? Rp ONLY! Being the largest ship on the server means that if they are used for battle they will be scrapped easily. Besides you get a better felling with the rp options you can do to said large ship. Also get a better feeling when you ask someone "Hey have you seen [insert you cap's name here]?" And they reply "Who?" :lol:Nothing like an unknown bs to make you feel good about yourself...but that is just me  ' Wrote:lol, most likely i am a real bad cap player too. however, i really dont actually find other cap players... Depends what you want really. If you want a fighting Battleship look for them from the Corsairs, Order or the Bounty Hunters..if you want Rp Battleship then that is only limited by your imagination... Use of Capital Ships - Elsdragon - 01-06-2010 Ill put it this way: if you try to fight in a cap, you will lose. THey are not meant for fighting. They are made to be sitting ducks. So for your sanity, dont get one. Use of Capital Ships - Tovig - 01-06-2010 Look after official faction tagged capitals if you want to see good capitals players. Use of Capital Ships - waddoff - 01-06-2010 Capital ships are primarily made to fight other capital ships. Your success depends largely on your loadout and armour as well as ship type, as most Capital Ships above Gunboats are pretty much impossible to miss. There are exceptions in the smaller variesty Cruisers and Battleships, such as the Osiris, which do very well at dodging. After you've got a good loadout, the rest is up to skill, really. Just don't expect to win against Fighter class ships, particularly Bombers. |
