Prison Liner RP - Some pointers? - mang109 - 01-09-2010

So I've finally set up a prison liner. I like the role specific ships (Slave Liner, ALG Mover etc).

But, there really isnt much scope for shipping prisoners ALL the time. What should I carry on the return journys ? are there some obvious ...just no .. cargos ?

Any other general Prison Liner RP suggestions are very welcome

Thanks

I have found that the Prison Liner can be a great ship for cargo piracy if you're careful enough, or for gathering more prisoners depending on its affiliation.

After all, a Prison Liner captain might get paid based on how many prisoner's he/she is "taking care of", so it would be logical for him to seek more prisoners.

If the prison station sells it, then it's expected that a prison liner would transport it on the outgoing leg. Light arms to various police outposts or battleships is also a possibility, and then prisoners from there to the prison stations. There are several loops within each House using prisoners, light arms, and what the prisoners in the prisons produce. You might also consider MOX shipments, military vehicles, and nuclear devices to various battleships. I expect the prison liner to be more of a robust cargo vessel than a luxury liner. No doubt you could find a House faction who would be glad to sponsor such shipments for military purposes.

Does that mean Smuggler-ID'd Prison Liners are acceptable?

What about Independent Pirate ID?

I suspect not.

I have a generic question about Liners.
Can i buy one of them, and using it like a normal transport ? I saw in game a lot of liners filled by normal cmmodities, and the wikia says:

"Liners are large, well defended ships specifically designed to transport people- although they are capable of filling their holds with other commodities as well. Most factions do not have access to Liners, and those that do have it specifically listed on their ID. For other purposes, a liner is exactly like a transport, just with more armor and firepower."

But some people said that i can transport only humman.

It's technically allowed but generally frowned upon to use a Luxury or Royal Liner for non-human or non-luxury cargo.

Prison and Slave Liners are a bit more flexible.

From an RP point of view - the Prison and Slave liners treat people as cargo- i.e in lots of small boxes. So its easily able to take on cargo aswell. But the Luxary/Royal treat people as peoplem i.e really not cargo.

Thats how Im justifying it to myself.
