Lately i have been having an issue with freelancer.
Its seems really badly jumpy. and frame rates will drop every 1-2 seconds.
Ya know how it jumps a little bit when someone is coming into radar range?
its alot like that, except its happening alot more often now.
can i has help?
it never did this before, and its been happening for a while now, i think since the last update.... i've just kinda ignored it, but it seems to have gotten worse lately.
ideas?

1) Exit FL.
2) Open My Computer.
3) Go to c:\program files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE
4) Rightclick on the Freelancer.ini file, and remove checkmark in the Read Only attribute.
5) Open Freelancer.ini in Notepad.
6) Find section starting with [ListServer]
7) See the entry called "hostname = gun.fllistserver.com ;GUN server provided by www.fllistserver.com"
8) Insert 3 semicolons infront of it, so it looks like the other entries.
9) Save.
10) Close notepad.
11) Start FL
12) Profit

thank you for the fast reply.
but i tried that before, and i just double checked again to make sure the servers were commented out in the .INI, and yup. still is.
and i am still having the issue...

For the record, i think i found this issue today.
maybe....
i think it was related to a Java process, which i have now ended and lagginess seems to have gone away for now...

If it happens again, try this:

I had same issue with Skype, whenever I was running skype, I got lags so I always closed skype when I wanted to go in game, but after putting One semicolon instead of Three or no semicolon at all, Skype is not bothering anymore.

i think a re-install of FL is next....
