The adventures of the Hekat - Linkus - 01-14-2010 Day 1 My name is Linkus Hujuk, captain of the Hekat Yacht. The yacht's name is named in honour. Not in my honour though, in my family's honour. These are the recordings of the various adventures of the ship which has seen use throughout the generations of my family. I hope to be able to add to the long list of achievements that this vessel has already racked up. I labelled this Day 1 for simplicities sake. In reality I've been in space for the past 3 years, now at the young age of 27. Currently we sit in the Cortez system, enroute to Bretonia. Why are we heading there? I'm interested in talking to the Mollys and learning more about them really. I have learnt all I can from outside sources, it's time to get it from the horses' mouth. Well we are about to jump so I'll leave it at this, a short introduction to what should hopefully be an epic. The adventures of the Hekat - Linkus - 01-14-2010 Day 2 Well that was eventful. It seems I didn't have to go very far to encounter some Mollys, I only had to fly through New London infact. Seems they somehow managed to disrupt the tradelane, probably overloaded the lane with weapons fire. In any case they didn't seem too surprised to find out that I wanted to talk to them more than shoot at them, apparantly they've been getting plenty of interested parties trying to establish some sort of communication with them. They asked for some of my cargo in return for taking me to speak to someone a bit higher up in the ranks. I'd love to know where they are basing from though and why the capital of a House system is so vulnerable to pirates. No doubt I'll find answers these questions soon. They are leading me towards Leeds, the warzone, for now though. I'd better tell the crew to keep an eye out on the scanners and to watch for any police patrols, who knows what would happen if they saw me being escorted by known pirates. The adventures of the Hekat - Linkus - 01-18-2010 Day 6 My apologies for not updating this sooner, it would seem I got caught up in things. We were enroute to meet someone higher up in the chain in the Mollys. We were approaching a jumphole in New London that would bring us to Leeds and from there Dublin presumably when a patrol of Corsair ships came out of nowhere and swarmed us. The escorts were killed, except for 2 pilots that we managed to rescue during the firefight. It would seem the Corsairs didn't want to shoot at us, just the Mollys. When the Molly ships were destroyed, the Corsairs tried to talk to us, something about following them and not the Mollys. I would admit I was tempted to do so, they were heavily armed and still numbering over 5 fighters even after the fight, plus it could be a chance to see the Corsair Empire in better detail than before. The decision was decided for us when a BPA patrol came along though, allowing us to slip away as they engaged the Corsairs. We're no longer headed towards Leeds but instead taking the a more direct route to Dublin via a jumphole. It seems that they don't want everyone knowing the location of this route. The Hekat did receive damage to her engines in the fight from stray shots. Our shields mostly compensated but the mines from the Molly ships were pretty strong and not very good at avoiding friendlies. So the shields went down on occasion, allowing for some hull damage. The trip should take a day or so now, with repairs hampering our ability to travel quickly. We can't afford to speed on ahead with the engines in a damaged state, it could prove lethal. I think that's enough for today anyway, lets hope that tomorrow proves just as interesting, though less dangerous! |
