I load Freelancer with Ddisco mod and I click New game and I get put in Omicron major with an objective 'dock planet Toledo'
How can I fix this and actually do the missions?

As of 4.85, I believe the story line is disabled, it's openSP.
Download 4.84 and try it with that.;)

Yeah, there's no SP campaign in .85. Lots of changes. Magellan gate no existy, etc.

Yeah, at MOST you'll want to find an old copy of 4.84 (its really hard at points, but possible)
Pretty much you'll want to just play vanilla or another mod.
