Need some help with Xfire - Othman - 01-26-2010

Well, I remember it working properly in the past but now it doesn't. My Xfire doesn't recognize Freelancer when I run it despite having it in the list and the Xfire in-game enabled. What could be wrong?

It doesn't automatically launch the game either.

well, log off, and log on, most of the times that works for me

otherwise you might want to check for a update on www.xfire.com

or just de-install and re-install

Sometimes the path to the Freelancer.exe isn't set in xFire's settings. Try to check this path in the options.

Check your registry's settings for Feelancer's location - see if it matches the real location. I had trouble with that.

In the games tab of the Xfire options, the gamepath for it looks like c:\program files (x86)\microsoft games\freelancer (thats auto detection)

When I try to browse and select the exe folder manually, it gives an error.

I tried relogging but it didn't work. It may be about the path or the reg settings. I'll try to figure out what needs to be done..

Its just wrong path to exe, happened to me on couple of games.

And check do You have enabled option 'scanning games' while logging on the xfire. If not, do this.

Still if that wont help, reinstall. It works always:)

It scans the games when launched. The strange thing is that it works with Wow but the gamepath for it looks like c:\users\public\games\world of warcraft\

And whenever I manually try to browse the exe folder for freelancer it says:

Unable to find the following files:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE\exe\Freelancer.EXE

for game Freelancer.
Please double check the path, and try again.

Hmm, try to reinstall xfire then. It should work, download latest version.

I think your problem lies in the fact that its in the x86 area....I have found that X-Fire or Freelancer wouldnt work from there...had to put it in the regular program files.....then it worked just fine.
