I don't think it's very serious since it was very brief, but if this somehow became widespread there would clearly be an issue.
Was on my way to Vierlande minding my own business when this "Nocturne's.Shadow" starts talking to me, in what appears to be group chat, about a bomber. Eh, sounds normal enough right?
- I wasn't in the same system
- I wasn't in a group; didn't have any notification I was added to one either
- He wasn't in a group either
A little while later he appeared with a group number, with me naturally not in one, and then even later than that he logged off. I randomly did a timestamp "/time" command earlier (for kicks; traveling to Vierlande takes a while just cruising) so the time in the one screenshot isn't quite the time it happened.
So, what happened here? Did the server have some massive hiccup or something? I mean I just inadvertently eavesdropped on someone's tactical communications from half the map away.

Doubt this is a glitch - Faction message (/factionmsg or /fm) appears in the same style of text as group - this is probably what he used. Were you wearing a similar tag to other people?

Yes, people can post a group message to a group, based on their number.
They probably got the numbers wrong.

Ya know what should be verified?
If you use /g or group chat while not in a group, what is it doing, does it sends the message to everyone that isnt in a group?
