Good day, my name is Jake Lightwing. I am a freelance mercenary.

Recently a friend of mine, and a member of the RFP passed away, he left me 2x Hornviper MK I (class 8) and 1x Hornviper turret (class 4)
Currently i have them tucked away in my switchblade's cargohold. Id like to have your permission for using them. As of now im currently docked in Bretonia, I got into some troubble with some corsairs.
You can count on them being used wisely. And i swear, by the honor of my family that they shall never get in libertonian hands.

Subject: Authorisations of weapons usage

Sehr geehrte Herr Lightwing,

The Military High Command looked at your request with doubt, due to the lack of information you provided regarding your background, the services you have done in turn and your loyality to Rheinland itself.

You see, the R6-n weapon line is hard to access for low ranking military and police officials aswell, rendering permission of usage to an entirely unknown individual could bear negative consequences. In light of that, the Military High Command would like you to forward an introduction of your family background, preferably proving Rheinland origins or notions of loyality.

As an addition to that, we would like to ask you of the following: We want you to prove your individual loyality by assisting Rheinland law-preserving forces or hunting down outlaw individuals, those being members of the Landwirtrechtbewegung, Red Hessian Army, Volksfront and Alster Union. Please file a report in the enclosed Military Report Frequency (//message dump) as a mean of proof, with the necessary visual data attached.

Naturally, even if we grant you permission, you have to promise that the guns will never be used against lawful Rheinland assets or in the assistance of Libertonian organisations.

Major Voelkel signing off.

Ah well, i assumed you would say that, but i didnt bother to enlighten you with my background as i find it irrelevant.

Then again, you seem to find it relevant, so such information shall be provided within these comms.

I was born in the sigmas, my father was a zoner, my mother was a civillian in Rheinland, from Frankfurt. They met during my dads buisniss trips. She was working as the secretary in the dockmasters officers.

I was born in 769, at Freeport 7. I grew up and followed in my dads footsteps, becoming a buisnissman with promising future. Then the catastrophy hit, the "nomads" attacked the station. Our family was on holyday at planet Baden Baden, and wasn't to return for a week.
The bombing ruined the company me and my dad worked for. We both got ourselves new jobs, but my dad wasnt really satisfied with being stationed behind a desk all day processing endless piles of insurance and juristiction folders.

He went out and tried his luck as a merchenary, taking small escort and transport jobs. It was a profiting and good job he said, little troubble, and he could always chase of the occasional pirate with his startracker.
Needless to say, a startracker isnt buildt to fight pirates, and the day came when he got shot down. His pod saved his life, but it scarred him to such a degree, that he ended up behind a desk again. He was terrified for long trips across space after this.

I felt that i should get outside once a while too. Being a "office slave" are not a very promising or profitable carriere. Then again, with my founds from trade and commerce, there was no problem investing in a bit more expensive ship. After all, a single man, living with his parents being well above his twenties, doesn't have the greatest of expenses.
So i waited a year before i purchased a Switchblade Borderworld Heavy fighter. A remarkable ship, effective, sturdy and durable.
I took it out for a ride, equipping 6 Fury cannons and a Cannonball. A dreadful loadout. I still worked as a office slave, but the switchblade always seemed to call my name from the hangar. I got restless and ventured outside.

Days passed, weeks passed... I found myself flying around Sirius, enjoying life as a freelancer. Doing odd-jobs whenever i was running low on food or other supplies.
I had built a living quarter inside my cargobay, It wasnt that big, but big enough to feature a bathroom, a bedroom, kitchen and living room. I practically moved into my ship, living there for some 3-4 days at a time.
Then i decided that id take a trip to Rheinland, to see my mothers birthplace. She had always spoken warmly about "ze Fatherland" but then again, somethings you dont belive before you see it.
I made my way to the Frankfurt system. Thanks to my mother i knew some Rheinladish, not much, but enough to get myself a job and some road descriptions to were her home had been. Something i noted was that everyone seemed honestly happy for helping you, even when your accent was almost a insult to their language.

During my time in Rheinland i got some friends, among them was Hans Peter Bursht, a Inspector in the Rheinland Federal Politzei. He was a senior officer, with his 38 and a half year in service. He was due to go off with pension in 3 years time.
Aside from Hans, i got to know a lady named Karen Schultze. She was a beautiful woman, with a temper. We went on some dates, but it never really went any further then that. Then, Hans died. Shot down by some scumbag pirate during a routine patroll. The news of Hans' death hit me harder then a Firekiss Plasma-cannon.
I was devastated, he had been such a good friend. During his funeral his wife came over to me. She handed me some documents, stating that i was to recieve the salvaged gear from his ship. Given the situation i just thanked her and said my condolences.
During the funeral i was asked if i wanted to give some final words, but i had to refuse. I just couldn't do it.

2 weeks has passed since Hans' funeral. I've been drinking hard, and was placed under arrest for peeing on a civillian in public.
During the scanning, they found the letter stating my right to claim the guns. Since i was in jail i didn't think i would ever get to see them, neither did i really want anythin that had belonged to Hans. Just couldn't stand having something that reminded me of him.
Thus the guns was tucked away in my cargobay, and i left for bretonia in the hope of getting as far away from my memories as i could.

Sehr geehrte Herr Lightwing,

While the High Command is making investigations and deciding whether to approve of your family background, we are still waiting for evidence of your actions placed in the service of the Federal Republic of Rheinland.
