I had an idea for something like this to defend home systems, namely for the NTF. I thought of a few important points:
It needs to be as immobile as possible, with super heavy armor.
Poor handling
Large core
High armor
Impressive firepower
Poor handling

And I planned two variants: The 'Belial' and the 'Mara'.
The Belial was a anti-fighter platform; slimmer design so that it can fire over a wider arc, and would have less of a powercore and less armor, designed for outfitting Solaris turrets.
The Mara would be a wider face, with heavier armor, core and less maneuverability. The idea here is the inverse. It's meant to pack a lot of forward fire for heavy support against caps.
