Diablo 2 on Windows 7 - Bobthemanofsteel - 02-08-2010
So, I thought I'd crank up Diablo 2 the other day, for a bit of nostalgic mouse mashing fun, only to find it did not work.
First time trying it on W7, it obviously worked fine when this PC had XP, and worked okay with a bit of fiddling on Vista.
Pretty much, I run the exe, goes to a black screen, which then promptly kicks me back to windows and kills the process.
Unfortunately, all the help I can find on the net is for the Beta or RC versions of W7, and nnoe have been helpful so far.
So I pose the problem to thee, oh Disco GC... Doest thou hath an answer?
EDIT: I'm going to bed now, hopefully someone pulls something out of the hat before I wake up:D

Aye, none of the obvious fixes work, I'm afraid. It's rather depressing, even with Diablo 3 looming over the hill.
That said, Diablo 3's been looming over the hill for how many years?
I suppose I'll have to wait until I get this crappy PC off a friend to play it XD

AFAIK you cant even run it on Vista using XP compatibility and stuff.
