Hmm i guess i have the floor here.
Today i did a escort job as i can as a merc. and i found a dilemma in the Server rules. I think.
Now if The Ship i was escorting was attacked by a LvL 29 player or less then i as a escort would have to look at what happend and could not go in and fullfill my contrackt, or can i as Am hired Escort do what i am payed to do. Protecket the ship/Pilot that pays me to get him from A to B and take out the Assains
now multiplye the lvl 29 put nasty missiles on them and your client could have a problem, and a escort cant do nada to them.

All your thoughts here and a clear ruling from Admins plz.

Well in my opinion. If a lvl 29 or under attacks your client, you are to fire back. Its within RP, and its in self defence of both you and your client.

But, I want to also see what an admin would say about this one.

If your convoy gets attacked, you are defending from a lower level player. Therefore, if you are in the employ of the trader who is getting attacked, you have every right to defend him.

However, screen shot him attacking the trader and then engage, so he can't say "You attacked me and up under-level". You were doing your job.

However, that may be a dilemma. Above is what I would do. The admins may say differently.

' Wrote:6. PvP General Rules
6.2 If a player is attacked*, he has a right to defend himself regardless of who is attacking. There are no restrictions for self-defense.

6.3 Attacking characters of level 29 and below is prohibited. Characters under level 30 can be attacked only (1) if grouped with another character of level 30 or higher, (2) if spotted on site of a clan battle, and (3) by players of level 29 or lower.

6.4 Characters escorted by another character of level 30 or higher can be attacked regardless of their level.

I concur with what has been said so far, but would like to point out that most of the ships that can mount the missiles you mentioned would put the player over the level 30 mark anyway. Theoretically, you could put a mini razor or Nova cannon on a Defender, but you wouldn't have the power needed to fire them. So about the only real threat would be Nuke mines and Sunslayer torps, especially since the Swarm Pod was taken out.

Edit: Nightfall posted while I was writing.

I believe this is the section under question. The big question I see is if "Self Defense" includes those you are escorting or not.

Well, the group counts as a whole (even the NPCs see it that way, group with someone, let that someone shoot at some green/white NPCs, they'll start attacking everyone in the group) so, since he attacked the ship you had the right to blast him to space dust, be it he was level 29 or 69 no matter, he attacked, you defended.
