Shadows and Honour - Ash - 02-23-2010
Grey flakes of burnt wood and ash tumbled down through the draughty air. In the middle of the room was a long business table charred from the explosion, and at either side were the petrified and blackened bodies of the Samura officials who had been discussing their diplomacy moments before. The walls at each side of the room were blacked towards the center of each side, and showed a hint of the dark green wallpaper towards the corners.
A hooded man slid open a Shoji screen at one end of the room and instantly checked the security camera; now a tangled box of wires and metal; in the far corner. He had gripped in his hand a pistol, ready to eliminate any survivors of the explosion. He paused a moment before making his way around the table and fallen corpses to the figure still sat reclining at the head of the table. Once there he reached into the corspe's inside-jacket pocket and retrieved a small bundle of leather and plastic; the remnants of his wallet. He rummaged through the cards in their numerous sleeves until he came across a particular one with a clear Samura logo on the back. He flipped it to observe the face of the man sitting in front of him and his name; "Arai Daiichi"; and position; "Chairman Representative, Yokohoma Shipyards".
A struggling noise surprised him as he looked down to see a writhing man in a different uniform to the left of him. It came apparent he wasn't one of them when he noticed the fallen tray of Cigars and Sake shots close by. But his orders were clear and he couldn't risk the fact this person might have seen him. He cocked the pistol and put an end to his struggles with a single shot to the head.
He turned and reached into his coat pocket to retrieve a small phone-like device. He punched in a combination of numbers and almost instantly someone was on the other end.
"It's done"
"All of them?"
"I'm looking at all six as we speak"
"Good, Sakura 8 will be picking you up, change of plans, their flying a Republican ID, when they find the bodies they'l be scanning every ship in the area for flaws"
"Understood, anything else?"
"Keep a low profile, their ordered to be docked for no longer than five minutes, their waiting at dock 5"
"Understood"
Almost instantly he clipped the phone closed and headed back through the screens before sliding them shut.

"Excellent work Shintaro, you've done the Shogun a great duty."
The rough walls of the Kyoto asteroid around him shone red with the landing lights on the landing pad before them. Up in the control tower, clear in sight a number of people were peering out down towards him.
"It's my honour and duty to serve for the Shoki Admiral."
"Excellent! Then you'l be glad to recieve your promotion to Lieutenant! Congratulations Ryuko."
The Admiral took his hand and shook and a number of dragon pilots watching nearby clapped and gestured to Ryuko in appreciation. Once the admiral had let go of the handshake Ryuko took a step back and bowed in thanks.
"Arigato Admiral Hideyoshi"
The admiral put his arm around Ryuko's shoulders and led him to the landing pad elevator.
"Now leave your ship to the monks and lets go celebrate!"
