I have noticed that ship mounts allow you to fit either a CD or a Torpedo.
Is it possible to create a ship that has a gun/missle/CD slot?

This is how bomber slots work. Bomber torpedoes are class 1 "guns", and can mount CDs as well.
Technically, I think you can have a CD/Thruster hardpoint or something silly like that, though I doubt the game engine would like you for that.
It's doable, but there aren't any ships setup like that.

hah, I can just imagine all the bombers dropping their TCD for an extra thruster and boosting around at 400m/s...
