New System Rules - Igiss - 11-30-2005

I'm intended to make system controlling rules more clear. It seems that each faction leader now has his/her own view of what system his/her faction ownz. Therefore I'm proposing that every faction will revert its status to 3 controlled/1 home system (no more 4 total) and later claim other systems from other factions or purchase systems... yes, purchase. Free systems from administrator, controlled systems from factions. Free system cost is 200 million. I'm also introducing weekly maintainance cost for each controlled system.

Proposal for new system rules:

3. Rules of system claiming

3.1 Each new faction has a right to claim home system and 2 controlled systems when entering server.

3.2 Territory of a faction consists of home system and controlled systems. Controlled systems are subject to disputes and military conflicts between factions. Home system may be subject to disputes only if the faction loses all of its controlled systems.

3.3 Each of the controlled systems must be directly connected via jump gates or jump holes to at least one controlled system or home system of the same faction.

3.4 Each faction must pay maintainance cost of 15 million per week for each system under its control. Maintainance cost for home system is 0. Maintainance cost is substracted by server administrator from any character belonging to faction.

3.5 If faction is unable to pay maintainance cost, it loses one system per week. Faction leader can choose what system to give away.

3.6 Factions can purchase free systems for 200 million credits each. Direct connection rule is in force for system purchasing.

3.7 Factions may claim systems belonging to other factions. If attacking faction wins a battle over a system, the system changes its owner. Direct connection rule is in force for system claiming.

The price for system maintenance is a too low. 15 mill can be done in a single run with a large train. Instead, 20-25mill seems more appropriate.

200 Mill is a lot of money. A price between 140-180mill seems more apropriate..

I agree with the rest of the rules.

Do maintenance costs apply to the 2 initial systems too?

Yes it does. All controlled systems, without home system.

Therefore, if faction loses everything, it still has home system as a last resort.

I'm also changing faction rules so that new factions must have no less than 3 members with 3 different accounts. Then, if number of members drops below 3, faction becomes suspended, and is removed from faction list after a week if it cannot find more members.

I think we should keep the systems we have already and just pay the 200 per system, but not have to worry azbout people buying from us after we fought for them already. And AW isn't ready to pay yet because I can't get my comp to install 4.78.

I'm waiting for a brief story of your conquests. As far as I can remember, I allowed AW to have 4 systems under control when the 'cotrol' rules were first discussed.

Ohh dear, ill be over here....doing something...productive, ohh and is there a know price for these maintanence costs? Cause at this point most clans might go Bankrupt, or spend all there time trading to get the $$$

So.. basically...

assuming this goes into effect, and LS controls (or whatever you want to call it) NY, Colorado, Texas and California.

$200 mil a system. 4 systems. $800 mil total for Liberty Sentinels

And to boot... $15 mil per system per month on top of that?

Am I reading this right?

Basically, it's this way.

You get 4 systems for free, later can buy other systems for $200 million.
10 million (ok, better this way) per each of your system minus home system per week, that's 30 million per week.

Maybe I need to lower costs to 5 million per week? Well, anyway, large factions should be limited somehow. Or, say 15 million per week for 5th system and all above 5th, so you don't pay anything if you have 4 systems or less?

Lower to 5-10mil per week and make the system about 160-175mil each. Also we don't need to pay for systems if we conquer them right? Just maintanence. Also all but 4 of our systems were gained through wars. And you said we could have more than 4 if they are obtained through war.

I believe the rules are, and correct me if I'm wrong; That each faction can have 1 home system no maintnence costs on home system. Up to 3 other controlled systems for CURRENTLY PLAYING factions which will have a maintnence cost but no inital purchase cost of 200 mil. (4 total). New factions can have a home sys and two additional sys (3 total) for no inital cost and no maintnence on home system.
- If you win a battle for a system that mean someone already controlled it and there will be no purchase cost of 200 mil for that sys because it is a spoil of war. Maintnence on the system that was won will begin when control of the system is confirmed and tranfered to winning faction.
- After initial setup of owned systems weather it be 4 for current faction or 3 for new ones you can expand as far as you like as long as you have the resources and skills to maintain your systems. so if you want to own 10 systems then purchase and conquer away.

I just put this up here because it seems people keep repeating questions that were asked before and answered before. So maybe this will help clarify a little or maybe it won't. Either way I tried.
