It's okay to tell the pirate you don't have the money. They appreciate the start of the role-play. It's quite another to then hit the F1 button.

Consequences: It's always cheaper to pay the pirate. The funds on both of your ships are now gone. Oh, and your fighter - post here when you figure out what you want to be - it's in jail until then.
